A catalyst is a substance used to accelerate the rate of a reaction. The catalyst itself does not undergo a permanent chemical change and is used in a relatively very low quantity when compared to the other reactants. Nearly, 85-90 percent of all the chemical production processes employ a catalyst during some stage of the production process. Catalysts are essential during the commercial production of most chemical and polymer products. They help production units run the production process in a cost-effective and swift manner. Sleep apnea is a common sleeping disorder characterized by repetitive instances of interrupted breathing caused by upper airway obstruction during sleep. There are three types of sleep apnea namely, central, obstructive, and complex or mixed sleep apnea. The most common form of sleep apnea is OSA. OSA is a condition in which the throat muscles relax intermittently and repeatedly causing complete or partial blockage of the upper airway during sleep. Symptoms of OSA in adults include snoring, gasping or choking, breathing through the mouth, restlessness during sleep, and daytime sleepiness. Sleep apnea diagnostic devices, such as PSG, actigraphy systems, and pulse oximeters, are used in sleep apnea screening; positive airway pressure and oral appliances are used in sleep apnea therapy.
