 2019 年 4 月，上海国际航运研究中心发布《全球港口发展报告(2018)》。报告指出，2018 年虽然受到全球经济增长动能有所放缓、中美贸易摩擦、英国脱欧等不利因素影响，全球海运贸易增长出现放缓，但全球港口货物吞吐量仍然保持增长，只是增速略有下滑。2019 年，从当前世界各国经贸增长预期看，展将会弱于 2018 年，全球贸易及海运量增长或将进一步趋缓。全球港口吞吐量保持稳中有进，增速或将维持在 2.3%的较低水平。
