    This section has not changed since the previous report. The proposed research has the goal of understanding the brain system properties that underlie individual differences in cognitive performance and using this understanding to enhance performance of individuals and organizations. The proposed research will apply new leverage to this familiar problem using innovations in brain science from the past ten years that permit detailed noninvasive measurement of brain function, brain anatomy, and now the effect of magnetic brain stimulation, as they relate to cognitive performance. For example, the essence of fluid intelligence is the ability to adapt to a new task or problem. This ability cannot be characterized in simple behavioral terms such as 'speed of processing.' In the new brain systems view, fluid intelligence consists of the ability to dynamically configure a new network (team) of brain areas that can effectively collaborate to perform a new task. The individual differences in fluid intelligence, according to this view, are underpinned by differences in this dynamic ''network configuration** ability, which we call adaptability. This new approach, when used in the context of a suitable integrating theoretical framework, has the potential of determining the brain bases of individual differences in cognition.

    At present,the traffic engineering and automation have developed,and the vehicle license plate recognition technology need get a corresponding improvement also.In case of identifying a car license picture,the principle of automatic license plate recognition is illustrated in this paper,and the processing is described in detail which includes the pre-processing,the edge extraction,the license plate location,the character segmentation,the character recognition.The program implementing recognition is edited by Matlab.The example result shows that the recognition method is feasible,and it can be put into practice.

  • 1147.用于及早发现骨转移性乳腺癌的生物相容性,生物可降解和酶裂解的MRI造影剂

    This project proposes to design and test a novel peptide-based MRI contrast agent for early detection of bone metastasis from breast cancer. The proposed imaging agent is consist of bone targeting moiety of Asp8 and MRI imaging moiety of DOTA(Gd) with a cathepsin K cleavable peptide spacer. A solid phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) strategy was used to synthesize peptides. Coupling of the peptide onto DOTA followed by Gd complexation was performed to achieve the proposed imaging agent. Non-targeting and CTSK-insensitive controls were similarly prepared. The obtained contrast agents were characterized in terms of bone specificity, enzymatic degradability and biocompatibility. Preliminary testing of contrast enhanced MR imaging at different time points is ongoing in mice with bone metastasis from breast cancer.

    Crew resource management (CRM) is the effective use of all available resources-human, equipment, and information to ensure mission completion and reduce mishaps. The purpose of this study was to describe patient safety- related attitudes of U.S. Air Force flight surgeons and family physicians and ascertain the impact of Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS), Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), and aviation CRM (aCRM) training on those attitudes. Active duty Air Force flight and family medicine physicians were surveyed in a cross-sectional manner with a web-based, Air Force enhanced Safety Attitudes Questionnaire (SAQ). Responses were scored according to published SAQ computation scales and analyzed with Excel statistical tools and SPSS statistical software. Attitudes among Air Force flight surgeons and family physicians were similar to one another, generally positive with regard to teamwork, safety, and stress recognition, and less so in other SAQ domains. Training in TeamSTEPPS, PCMH, and aCRM was not associated with more positive patient safety-related attitudes. Air Force physicians trained in CRM-related concepts did not perceive higher levels of teamwork, safety, job satisfaction, stress recognition, confidence in leadership, or work conditions. Rank and major command as covariates were weakly associated with differences in attitudes. Training in TeamSTEPPS, PCMH, or aCRM was not associated with improvement in safety-related attitudes among Air Force flight surgeons or family physicians. Further study is warranted to ascertain the effectiveness of such programs, either in their concepts, deployment, and/or sustainment.

  • 1149.Hh信号的激活:前列腺癌ETS基因异常的重要生物学后果

    One of the most notable early molecular changes in prostate cells associated with neoplastic development involves the acquisition of genetic anomalies (chromosomal rearrangements or deletions) that increase expression of gene products of the ETS family (exemplified by ERG, ETV-1, ETV-4 or ELK-4). We propose that one important consequence of ETS gene overexpression in prostate cells is increased expression and activity of Gli transcription factors that are normally induced by classical Hedgehog signaling. In this study, we have identified that GLI1 is regulated by androgens in both LNCaP and VCaP prostate cancer cells. We also identified Gli overexpression induces androgen-independent growth of prostate cancer cells and this action is mediated by a direct interaction between GLIs and androgen receptor (AR) which leads to enhanced AR signaling under both androgen-supplemented and androgen-deprived conditions. Additionally we discovered CDK8/19 as novel regulators of AR-mediated transcription in prostate cancer cells, which may provide helpful information in developing effective treatment of advanced prostate cancer in near future.

    Intersection traffic flow analysis and analysis of algorithms,design of algorithms,this paper,the vehicles unified identification as a standard car equivalent steps of the algorithm based on the decision-making on the flow of traffic junctions,the algorithm is applicable not only to single coil detector or single magnetic detector such as a single detector,but also applies to dual-loop detectors.The detection process is simple and can achieve very high accuracy rate,and through case studies,to verify the effectiveness and accuracy of change algorithm.
