LDPE is made by the polymerization of ethylene at high temperatures in an autoclave or a tubular reactor. LDPE contains two or four carbon atoms on the main chain leading to irregular packing and low crystallinity. It is chemically inert and insolvent at room temperature and has good resistance to alkalis and acids. When LDPE is exposed to light and oxygen, it loses its strength and tear resistance. It is used in molded laboratory apparatus such as pipette washing equipment, wash bottles, bags, tanks, and general purpose tubing.

2015 年，俄罗斯油气工业在欧美经济制裁及低油价的影响下，原油产量达到 5.33 亿吨，比上年增长 1.3%；原油一次加工量 2.83 亿吨，比上年下降 2.1%；原油出口量 2.42 亿吨，成品油出口量 1.71 亿吨，比上年分别增长 9.8%和 4.1%。天然气产量 6334 亿立方米，比上年小幅下降 0.9%，天然气出口量 1855亿立方米，比上年增加 7.4%。中俄东线天然气管道进展顺利，“北流-2”管道项目签署合资公司协议，“土耳其流”天然气管道陷入停滞。俄政府推行进口替代计划应对制裁，调整油气工业税收政策提升财政收入，中俄油气合作进一步拓展。虽然近期俄罗斯油气产量不会明显下降，但石油公司收入下滑，资金缺乏，勘探开发投入后继乏力，后期资源接替问题将逐渐突出。
