Current market drivers include organic photovoltaics [1], flexible batteries [2], electro-optic devices [3], displays, and logic and memory components, including field-effect transistors (FETs) and thin-film transistors (TFTs) [4], sensor arrays [5], and radio frequency identification (RFID) tags [6].

3472.便携式矢量时域EMI传感器和辨识处理

SERDP project MR-1443 entitled “Man-portable Vector Time Domain EMI Sensor and Discrimination Processing” is complete.This report contains the final design, engineering challenges, modeling advancements, and data analysis results from this project.This combination of vector receivers coupled with a laser positioning system resulted in a versatile prototype instrument delivering high quality, diverse data well suited to rigorous models of UXO and soil. New algorithms aimed at utilizing the high quality data from the MPV were developed including the Generalized Standardized Excitations Approach (GSEA) and Normalized Surface Magnetic Source (NSMS). Results from this project suggest a further need for high quality, hand held, production instruments in the time domain suited to UXO remediation efforts. The MPV2 instrument incorporates a redesign of the MPV concept.

In the last decade, sequencing technology has progressed rapidly, leading to much faster and cheaper production of short-read data. The challenge of assembling the reads into an accurate reconstruction of the sequenced genome, however, has increased. This is because the assembly problem is made more dicult when the reads are shorter, especially for genomesof most higher organisms, which contain complicated repeat structures. In this thesis we study the algorithmic problem of de novo DNA sequence assembly, focusing on the challenge of dealing with genomic repeats. We develop two new assembly tools, as well as initiate the study of information-theoretic limits of shotgun sequencing for realistic genomes.

3474.电气信号参数测量中一种改进的软件同步采样法

Common software synchronous sampling methods have some shortcomings such as sampling synchronization error,sampling interval error accumulation increment and so on,and the impact of this error on the measurement accuracy can not be ignored[1].In this paper,analysis on synchronization error occurrence reasons was performed,and proposed the synchronization implementation method of asynchronous sampling.This method can track the real-time changes of electrical signal by the zero-cross-over triggering circuit,and reduce the synchronization error by the software method.Simulation analysis of the signal cycle (frequency) and RMS measurement shows that proposed method improves accuracy of the electrical signal parameters measurement based on microprocessor technology.

Cyber-physical systems (CPS) are becoming indispensable in our modern way of life. As an application domain CPS is not new. As an intellectual discipline, however, it is. This paper focuses on CPS modeling, which is an essential activity in CPS design, with multiple challenges. In particular, stakeholders lack a systematic framework and guidelines to help them choose among the many available modeling languages and tools. We propose such a framework in this paper. Our framework consists of three elements: viewpoints, which capture the stakeholders’ interests and concerns; concrete languages and tools, among which the stakeholders must make a selection when defining their CPS design environments; and abstract, mathematical formalisms, which are the “semantic glue” linking the two worlds. As part of the framework, we survey various formalisms, languages, and tools and explain how they are related. We also provide examples of viewpoints and discuss how they are related to formalisms.

3476.设计光纤光栅传感器分析仪的基于FPGA和DSP的改进的方法

Fiber Bragg sensors become research focus of sensing technology,and have been widely used in many applications.This paper proposed a novel Fiber Bragg Grating sensor analyzer based on FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) and DSP (Digital Signal Processor) platform,which converted external parameter changes into wavelength shift in fiber Bragg gratings.The system can measure real-time temperature,strain,pressure,displacement and others through key steps including data acquisition,clutter Filtering,signal peak detection,Gaussian curve fitting and weighted wavelength calculation to carry out wavelength demodulation.Moreover,it is able to achieve fault diagnosis and positioning of the fiber link.Experimental results show that the system has advantages of low power consumption,good linearity,strong robustness,high precision and resolution on wavelength demodulation.And the system is still stable and reliable after a long test under different conditions.

3477.使用基于修改图像的声发射的自动测量控制液压缸状态识别

The growing requirements of steel products qualities bring even tricky restrictions to the rolling process.With the fast response,reliable control and low maintenance requirements,the hydraulic automatic gauge control system has been widely applied to screw down the roller to maintain the precise rolling spaces for product quality control.Regarding to non-stopped heavy duties charged to the system,unavoidable faults and disfunctioas not only influence the product quality,but also bring underlying safety issues.The hydraulic cylinder is the executing component of the roller screw down and it has the dominant percentage of hydraulic components' faults.Working with unexpect loading is one of major impact factor that causes several chain-effects happened to the cylinder,as the classical diagnostic process is lack of cross-validating and time-consuming,the paper proposes the potentials of using acoustic emission to fill the dilemmas.The works include the data acquisition process to record the ultrasound acoustic signals from the hydraulic cylinder during it was loaded with 6 types of conditions,a modified image based acoustic emission approach constructed by using 8 significant waveform features was applied to generate visual effects and transform the cylinder acoustic emission signals under various loadings to a uniform format,the subtle differences among various Ioadings can be observed based on the pixel and intensity changes of the images.By applying the principal component analysis to project the acoustic emission image profiles onto the 3D plane,a clear trajectory can be observed with normal and overload conditions allocated upon the positive and negative sides of the axis.The result provided not only the potential of using acoustic emission for dynamic state identification of the subtle changes,but also opens up the possibility of preventive measures to the cylinder at risks in the future.

This study provides a framework to explore the potential use and incremental value of small- to large-scale penetration of solar and wind technologies as a physical hedge against the risk and uncertainty of electricity cost. The idea that adding renewable energy (RE) to a conventional fossil portfolio generates diversity-related benefits is not new and has been discussed by many others (e.g., Bolinger et al. 2002; Awerbuch and Berger 2003; Bazilian and Roques 2008; Roques et al. 2010). Similarly, there may be related benefits from combining RE and natural gas generation (Lee et al. 2012; Weiss et al. 2013) as well as from combining wind and solar within the RE component of the larger portfolio. The core idea behind the value of diversification, of not putting all the eggs into one basket--or in this case electric generation technologies--has widespread acceptance. In finance applications the value of diversification forms the foundation behind the application of mean-variance portfolio (MVP) theory to choose efficient portfolios of stocks and bonds (Markowitz 1952). The related concept of quantifying the value of diversity in the electric sector that may result from reducing the risk and uncertainty of the overall system costs over multi-year to multi-decade time horizons is less well understood or accepted (Stirling 1994; Awerbuch and Berger 2003). Adding RE can be expected to reduce the variability of the overall electric system costs over a variety of timescales as natural gas-fired generation is displaced. However, the direct application of MVP theory to optimize the mix of generation assets within a generation portfolio is problematic for a number of reasons, including the fact that the operational characteristics of some types of generation assets are dissimilar.
