Micro hybrid vehicles are vehicles that have a start-stop mechanism that automatically shuts down the engine during idling and restarts the engine when the car accelerates. The mechanism helps to reduce fuel consumption by 5%-12%. Thereby, the vehicle ensures reduced emissions and a better fuel economy. The technology has a potential to save 8%-15% on fuel savings. In addition, the micro hybrid vehicle is designed in such a way that it can capture energy from braking, and is able to support higher loads such as air conditioning and active chassis technologies when the engine is idle. The newly designed 48V battery offers effective electrical load management and ensures there is the additional support required to bear the higher loads.

The world population is growing at an alarming rate and, by estimates, it will grow to over 9 billion by 2050. In addition, 3 billion more people will be living in cities by 2015, thus reducing the arable land. With the increasing population food demand will also increase. Demand for animal feed and biofuel will also increase the demand for agricultural production. Also, soil erosion and land pollution are reducing the size of arable land per person. This puts pressure on farmers to increase the yield of the land with the limited size of the agricultural land. Precision farming is a farm management process that is bringing about a paradigm shift in agriculture. It relies on technology to measure agricultural variables like soil contents, yields, and weed utilize precise information about agricultural resources, and subsequently apply specific treatments. This enables the producer to micromanage farming practices and improve production and profits while keeping resource use to a minimum.

These fertilizer nutrients may be available naturally or may have to be synthesized. The lack of nutrients in the soil may be due to a number of factors, for instance, soil erosion and inadequate rotation of crops. Also, the increased use of the same land for crop production reduces the nutrients in the soil. Though these nutrients can be replaced by crop residues or other organic matter over time, such replenishment does not provide optimal fertility.
