As most of the time people develop their daily activities inside buildings this energy saving cannot be obtained by putting users' welfare to risk, since their productivity is directly related to their comfort. Thus, it is necessary to look for a tradeoff between users' comfort and energy saving. In order to achieve this compromise, the construction of bioclimatic buildings which incorporate passive strategies and make use of renewable energies is one of the most applied approaches. Nevertheless, in some cases, and mainly due to the typical climate of the place where the building is located, it may be insufficient. In these cases, it is required, together with innovations in structural designs, to perform specific control actions on HVAC systems and other building's actuators, oriented to provide comfortable environments from thermal, visual and indoor air quality points of view, and with the minimum energy consumption.

This research aims to create a generalized methodology assessing energy and cost reductions from CO2 based DCV and then apply it to a specific facility at multiple locations. This research creates a generalized methodology for future researchers to follow based on the present body of knowledge. The model application then applies this methodology to one of the Department of Energy's (DOE) commercial benchmark facility models. The selected DOE model is a small office building with single zone HVAC air systems, assessing DCV impact on energy consumption and costs for 52 United States locations. Although the model application is not life cycle cost effective for the building modeled, it successfully identifies which areas experience the greatest cost and energy savings from DCV.

DSM has established a new concept that energy saved at the demand-side is taken as a kind of substitutable resource of the supplier between energy development and energy conservation as well as between modern business profit mode and environmental protection. That means DSM also a kind of resource as the fifth electric power energy [1-4] excluding hydraulic power energy, thermal power energy, nuclear power energy, and renewable energy. The core concepts in DSM theory can be classified into basic concept type, evaluation index type, and evaluation method type, referred to in Table 2.1 [1-6].

The purpose of this project was to follow up on a Building America (BA) retrofit project to determine the actual savings. In addition, this project provided a perfect opportunity to look at the use of the Building Energy Optimization Program (BEopt) as it applies to multifamily retrofits. BEopt is a tool that is used by the BA Program to determine cost optimized packages in both new and retrofit construction. It also provides a consistent way to compare one BA project from another in various climate regions. BEopt was not originally built for multifamily, nor for retrofit projects. However, when Vice President Biden announced Recovery through Retrofit in 2009, BA took on the challenge of existing homes. BEopt was one component of the BA Program that added retrofits into its repertoire and has been continually improved since then.

We present a methodology and associated analysis tool (LIGHTEnUP Lifecycle Industry GHgas, Technology and Energy through the Use Phase) that aims to capture both the manufacturing sector energy consumption and product life-cycle energy consumption implications of manufacturing innovation measures. The tool architecture incorporates U.S. national energy use data associated with manufacturing, building operations, and transportation. Inputs for technology assessment, both direct energy saving to the manufacturing sector, and indirect energy impacts to additional sectors are estimated through extensive literature review and engineering methods. The result is a transparent and uniform system of comparing manufacturing and use-phase impacts of technologies.

In this paper, we combined train performance calculation and power supply solver with our proposed multi-agent based condition monitoring under some specific conditions. The first part of this paper demonstrated the exploitation of the regenerative braking energy with on-board energy storage devices. With the proposed scheme applied in this paper, the energy consumed by the power substation can be reduced. This confirmed the attractive use in regenerative energy storage. The second part gave explanation of the train monitoring software using Java multi-agent integrating with VC++ GUI. The performances of in-service trains can be monitored online. The multi-agent system designed for this test is enhanced visually by the development of the VC++ GUI. The software tool is useful to help the system operators to improve their train service.

2599.基于OpenWrt的低成本家庭节能器的实现

This paper introduces a system that can effectively save home energy by applying a small embedded system through remote control. We used a wireless router based on OpenWrt for the platform to develop an embedded system and a smart phone for the remote LED light control. The system was implemented by connecting a wireless router with an OS of OpenWrt installed and an interface board with an LED attached. The smart phone, which was the remote control device, was implemented by TCP/IP programming. The operation of the remote control system was verified by socket communication between the smart phone and the wireless router, and by USB communication between the wireless router and the interface board.

This Technical Support Document (TSD) describes the process and methodology for the development of the Advanced Energy Design Guide for Large Hospitals: Achieving 50% Energy Savings Toward a Net Zero Energy Buildings (AEDG-LH) (ASHRAE et al. 2012). The AEDG-LH provides recommendations for achieving 50% whole-building energy savings in large hospital buildings over levels achieved by following ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2004, Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings (Standard 90.1-2004) (ASHRAE 2004b). The AEDG-LH was developed in collaboration with ASHRAE, AIA, IES, USGBC, ASHE, and DOE.
