    The field study, Phase 1 of this research, resulted in a set of best practices appropriate to the current labor pool and market conditions in central Florida to achieve projected annual energy savings of 15-30% and higher. This report describes Phase 2 of the work where researchers worked with a local government partner to implement and refine the 'current best practices.' A simulation study was conducted to characterize savings potential under three sets of conditions representing varying replacement needs for energy-related equipment and envelope components. The three scenarios apply readily to the general remodeling industry as for renovation of foreclosed homes for the affordable housing market. Our new local government partner, the City of Melbourne, implemented the best practices in a community-scale renovation program that included ten homes in 2012.

    The building energy consumption simulation software DeST is used to analyze the effects of fixed shading over external window on energy consumption and efficiency, on the base of a residential building in Shanghai.The simulation results show that the fixed shading over south window has little effect on the overall energy saving of residential building.For east and west external window, if window area is not very large and its shading performance is better, the effect of fixed shading installation on energy saving is not obvious.On the contrary, if its area is large and its shading performance is ordinary, the effect is remarkable.Furthermore, when room ventilation capacity is poor, the effect of energy saving by fixed shading installation is more prominent.

    This research examined the energy savings potential of improving the thermal properties of expeditionary shelters, and then evaluated these measures using a fully burdened cost savings technique. Geographic Information Systems, Radiant Time Series cooling load analysis, and fully burdened concepts were applied to develop a model that analyzes the economic effectiveness of various shelter improvements in any climate and location in the world. Specifically, solar flies developed through Solar Integrated Power Shelter System (SIPSS) program for installation on fabric shelters were examined. The model was validated against test data provided by the SIPSS program, and then it was applied to two case studies. Results indicated that the energy savings in transportation associated with point-of-use energy reduction initiatives can represent a substantial portion of the overall fuels savings, which validates the idea that cost savings should be evaluated on a fully-burdened basis.

Now, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 is driving design parameters for higher levels of performance for federal buildings by 2030, and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) set a national goal in 2010 to achieve NZE in 50% of all commercial buildings by 2050.

    The intelligent LED daylight lamp lighting control system is designed.According to the external light intensity,the control system which uses the PWM light modulation technology,ST89C52 Single Chip Microcontroller as the control system core,can adjust brightness of the LED daylight lamp automatically and accurately,and can also manually adjust the brightness.A comfortable lighting environment can created through the system for controlling the illumination source,the purpose of energy saving can be achieved.The control system which can be used for a variety of lighting situations has strong application value.

    Research of college classroom intelligent Lighting control system is based on the point of view of intelligence and energy saving.Considering the phenomenon of lighting waste and poor system management,a design of high stability and low power consumption intelligent Light control system is proposed.Through the research of distribution method of light source and the application of CAN bus communications technologies,this paper mainly introduces a distributed light control system based on ARM.According to the demand of indoor illumination,the system can achieve real-time and accurate regulation of all classrooms' lights.Compared with the traditional lighting control system,besides the characteristic of energy saving,the system also is characterized by strong anti-interference and intelligent management etc.

  • 2597.最终技术报告:大功率暖白色混合LED照明方案

    In this project, an integrated warm-white hybrid light engine was developed. The hybrid approach involves combining phosphor-converted off-white InGaN LEDs and direct-emitting red AlInGaP LEDs in a single light engine to achieve high efficacy together with high color rendering index. We developed and integrated technology improvements in InGaN and AlInGaP die technology, phosphor technology, package architecture and encapsulation, to realize a hybrid warm-white LED package with an efficacy of 140 lm/W at a correlated color temperature of 3000K and a color rendering index of 90, measured under representative operating conditions. This efficacy is 26% higher than the best warm-white LEDs of similar specification that are commercially available at the end of the project.

    For this report, GAOs objectives were to (1) identify states that have funded replacement programs and describe these programs; (2) identify challenges, if any, these states reported facing in implementing these programs; and (3) determine the extent to which these programs resulted in energy savings sufficient to offset replacement costs. To address these objectives, GAO surveyed all 50 states and the District of Columbia, examined data from pilot programs spanning about 2 years, and interviewed officials from three state-based programs.

    This report summarizes the status of the project at the conclusion of the 2011-2012 heating season. During this first season various control settings and system configurations were altered as the systems were adjusted to maximize comfort and energy savings. The performance of the systems will be monitored during the 2012-2013 season and an updated final report will be prepared.
