Breast cancer is characterized by uncontrolled growth of cancerous cells in the tissues of the breast. Though both males and females are affected by the disease, male breast cancer is rare. Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer in the world. Histologically, the disease can be classified as ductal carcinoma, lobular carcinoma, nipple cancer, and other undifferentiated carcinomas. Ductal carcinoma originates in the lining of the milk ducts while lobular carcinoma arises in the milk glands of the breast. The proliferation of cancerous cells from the site of origin to surrounding tissues is known as invasive breast cancer. Invasive ductal carcinoma is the most common subtype, accounting for 70-80 percent of all cases. According to a 2012 report by the GLOBOCAN project, breast cancer accounted for 11.90 percent of the total cancer cases and led to 522,000 deaths worldwide. Breast cancer that tests positive for the HER-2 protein, which affects the growth of the malignant cells, is known as HER-2 positive breast cancer. This protein is mostly found on the surface of normal breast cells, and their uncontrolled synthesis stimulates the growth of malignant cells. HER-2 positive breast cancer spreads and metastasizes more rapidly than HER-2 negative breast cancer. HER-2 positive breast cancer accounts for 20-25 percent of all types of breast cancer cases diagnosed in the US.

MDM is a type of software that is used to review or monitor the performance of a mobile device in terms of data speed, usage, signal strength, and data transfer. With the help of MDM software or solutions, it is easier to track the amount of data being transferred to other users. MDM solutions have easy user-interface enabling easy access to details about the speed of data upload or download over the internet. In addition, the solution also provides a graphical representation of data usage and alerts the user about the threshold limit. MDM solutions also automatically disconnect internet access once the user exceeds the data usage limit. Apart from tracking data usages, MDM solutions also detect an operator's network and country code, which helps the user decide the level of trustworthiness before accessing the network.

CKD is the continuous loss of kidney function characterized by reduced GFR, increased urinary albumin excretion, or both. The WHO identifies CKD as a major contributing factor to the incidences and outcomes of hypertension, diabetes, and CVD (three diseases targeted by the WHO). CKD is classified into five stages based on renal function and the level of urinary protein excreted as measured by an eGFR. The eGFR data are interpreted in relation to race, gender, age, and serum creatinine concentration.

A MEMS microphone consists of a pressure-sensitive diaphragm that is fixed directly into a silicon IC and is accompanied by an integrated preamplifier. MEMS microphones are often integrated with modern digital products; they are widely used in high-quality audio output devices. Most smartphones and tablets use MEMS microphones for high-quality voice output. Advances in technology have led to the development of miniaturized MEMS microphones, which can be easily integrated into compact electronic devices. MEMS microphones are increasingly used in hearing aids because of their superior noise-suppressing quality.

Nuclear imaging is a non-invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat various diseases such as cancer, heart diseases, and brain disorders. In this procedure, radioactive substances are used to provide a detailed image of the body at the molecular as well as the cellular level. A small amount of the radioactive particle is taken internally, orally or intravenously. External detectors such as gamma cameras then work with a computer to provide a precise image of the body. Nuclear imaging helps determine the severity of diseases and disease progression, in selecting effective therapy based on the biologic character of the body, and determining the patient’s response to a particular drug.

Heat pumps are energy-efficient alternatives to air conditioners and furnaces in places where climatic conditions lead to moderate heating and cooling needs. They consume electric power and transfer heat from one space to another, depending on the climatic condition and demand for either heating or cooling. They operate at a cost that is almost a quarter of the operating costs for any conventional heating or cooling equipment. These pumps are efficient and, unlike traditional HVAC, they do not need separate equipment for heating and cooling.
