The report contains the results of a test series to evaluate the electrical environment of a motor vehicle during normal operating conditions and a summary of power supply variations and electrical signal transient characteristics. Both source and coupled signals were measured. A computerized coupling analysis program was used to determine the effects of body shielding,aperture size,and cable lengths on signal coupling in the 100to 200MHz band between a simulated mobile radio emission and a modeled air-cushion restraint system cable as it might be used in a motor vehicle. A series of susceptibility tests were performed on an electronic speed control system and an anti-skid control module to determine functional upset levels of injected signals at critical circuit ports on these devices. The upset criteria were based on performance departures from normal,resulting from the injection of interfering signals. The injected signals were designed to represent levels and durations characteristic of those generated within the vehicle or coupled from external sources.

This document forms the third progress report on the development of a concept wheel force transducer that can measure the forces and moments between a tire and a road on a HMMWV driven under off-road conditions. This concept development is part of a project that endeavors to develop, validate and calibrate cost effective field test equipment for measuring tire characteristics on vehicles whilst driving off-road. The proposed wheel force transducer is an important step in a renewed research effort that aims to correct the gap in current tire testing and modeling knowledge to ensure that future off-road vehicle models and simulation efforts are conducted with confidence. The report briefly describes the fatigue testing performed on material samples as well as manufacturing and progress with fatigue testing of the first prototype.

The current scarcity of public charging infrastructure is one of the major barriers to mass household adoption of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs). Although most PEV drivers can recharge their vehicles at home, the limited driving range of the vehicles restricts their usefulness for long-distance travel. In this paper, an agent-based information system is presented for identifying patterns in residential PEV ownership and driving activities to enable strategic deployment of new charging infrastructure. Driver agents consider their own driving activities within the simulated environment, in addition to the presence of charging stations and the vehicle ownership of others in their social network, when purchasing a new vehicle. Aside from conventional vehicles, drivers may select among multiple electric alternatives, including two PEV options. The Chicagoland area is used as a case study to demonstrate the different deployment scenarios are analyzed.

Halogen lamps are the most popular and widely used form of automotive lighting. These lamps are made of non-metal chemicals that are highly reactive and poisonous. They have a tungsten filament and a glass filament that is filled with halogen gas. Halogen lamps are primarily used in automobiles as the light emitted by these lamps is extremely bright, which improves the visibility for automobile drivers. They also have a much longer life than regular lamps, are cost-effective, and are easily available in the market. Halogen lamps have been adopted across all geographies, and hence automobile manufacturers have been using halogen lamps in automobiles for more than a decade.

ACC is a driver assistance system that is incorporated into a vehicle to help the driver maintain constant speed and keep safe distance from other vehicles. ACC automatically manages vehicle speed if there is any obstruction in front of the car and warns the driver in an emergency. The purpose of installing an ACC system is to enhance safety and efficiency. It is designed to help prevent accidents caused by driver error such as poor reaction time and drowsiness. This system is highly efficient in warning a driver whenever required and in providing improved comfort during long drives.

中新网12月11日消息，2013年前11月我国汽车企业出口89.37万辆，比上年同期下降7.35%。其中，乘用车出口54.86万辆，比上年同期下降9.63%；商用车出口34.51万辆，比上年同期下降3.5%。中汽协整理的海关数据显示，1-10月，全国汽车商品累计进出口总额同比增长2.2%，同比年内首次呈现增长。其中：进口金额同比增长0.2%，结束了9月下降趋势；出口金额同比增长4.3%，增幅较前9月有所提升。据悉，1-10月，汽车整车共进口95.39万辆，同比下降1.7%，降幅较前9月减缓4.4个百分点。在汽车主要进口品种中，越野车进口同比增长4.8%；轿车进口同比下降10.5%；小型客车进口同比增长17.8%。1-10月，上述三大类汽车品种共进口92.56万辆，占汽车进口总量的97%。此外，1-10月，汽车整车共出口78.12万辆，同比下降8.25%。在汽车主要出口品种中，轿车出口同比下降17.4%；载货车出口同比下降10.5%；客车出口同比增长33.4%。1-10月，上述三大类汽车品种共出口72.29万辆，占汽车出口总量的92.5%。

2013 年1-5 月，汽车制造行业（包括汽车整车制造和汽车零部件制造）规模以上企业累计销售收入达23281 亿元，同比增长15.77 %，利润总额达1876 亿元，同比增长19.97 %，销售利润率高达8.06%。今年1-6 月，凭借132.98 万辆的销量和同期增长41.6%的傲人成绩，SUV 继续领跑车市。上半年上市的14 款中外SUV 中，国产6 款、合资6款、进口4 款，除了少量换代车型，基本上都是全新车型。

2013年9月，我国汽车市场总体呈现产销两旺态势，月度环比和同比均呈较快增长。乘用车产销表现较好，比上月增长明显，比上年同期增速加快。国内经济形势的好转也有利于商用车产销的增长，9月商用车产销同比增速均高于7月和8月水平。本月中国品牌乘用车市场占有率环比继续提升，但同比有所下降；自主品牌轿车市场占有率超越德系重返第一。小排量乘用车市场份额表现不及上月和上年同期。9月我国汽车企业出口量连续第五个月出现下滑，且降幅比8月有所扩大，表现出持续低迷的发展态势。全国汽车市场价格总体保持稳定走势，国产汽车与进口汽车价格小幅升降。经济效益方面，1-8月，汽车工业17家重点企业（集团）主要经济指标保持稳定增长，增幅与1-7月相比，多数指标呈小幅提高。
