As per the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), for health care and associated purposes, digital health technologies make use of computing platforms, networking, software, and sensors. These technologies have a wide range of applications, ranging from general wellness to medical devices. They can be used as a medical product, as companion diagnostics, or as an add-on to other medical products (devices, drugs, and biologics). Mobile health (mHealth), health information technology (IT), wearable devices, telehealth and telemedicine, and personalized medicine are all included in digital health.

The single cell RNA sequencing was developed in 2009. It was initially performed in a four-cell stage blastomere of a mouse, and later, a multiplexed ScRNA sequencing methodology was developed. However, the commercial single cell platform became available in 2014. The following figure illustrates the development history of the single cell sequencing technology that propelled the advancement of single cell RNA sequencing.

The food industry is one of the leading sectors of livelihood globally. However, with the growing population, there is a rising need to fulfill hunger and to provide nutrition-based food for the population. About 60% of the world’s hungriest people live in Yemen, South Sudan, Syria, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Haiti, and others. Malnutrition in children is a common problem in these countries, where a significant section of the population suffers from hunger. Farmers, agri-associations, and even food researchers are always looking for some alternative source of food to serve people and also to address food security. Some research studies stated that the insect protein could be the alternative and a sound protein source that could help this issue up to a certain level. Edible insects are further considered a superior protein source to conventional animal protein since they possess high feed conversion efficiency. This is basically due to the fact that insects are poikilothermic and also spend many limited amounts of energy and nutrients from food; however, they produce more percentage protein compared to warm-blooded animals.

LNPs are liposome-like structures especially geared towards encapsulating a broad variety of nucleic acids (RNA and DNA); and as such, they are the most popular non-viral gene delivery system. Exelead develops and manufactures LNPs to encapsulate different types of genetic payloads including siRNA, mRNA and saRNA. LNPs are composed primarily of cationic lipids along with other lipid ingredients. These typically include neutral phospholipid molecules belonging to the phosphatidylcholine (PC) class and sterols, such as cholesterol. Another common lipid ingredient is what is known as a PEGylated phospholipid—a polyethylene glycol (PEG) polymer covalently attached to the head-group of a phospholipid.
