Insomnia is a common complaint in the general population. Hypnotics are the most common treatment for insomnia, despite some unwanted effects such as tolerance and dependence. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) was shown to be effective in the treatment of chronic insomnia. Recent studies comparing CBT-I treatment with hypnotics further demonstrated that the CBT-I treatment was at least as effective as hypnotics during acute treatment, and may be more effective than medication during long-term follow-ups. This chapter describes the role of neurophysiological and psychological factors in the regulation and dysregulation of sleep. Further, the rationales and procedures of CBT-I are introduced. Lastly, the application of CBT-I with modern information technologies is discussed.

2282.自然杀伤T细胞对于乳腺癌的免疫原性化疗作用

During this second year of investigation, we have confirmed the important role of gamma delta T cells in the efficacy of immunogenic chemotherapy using anthracyclines. In the meantime, the NKT cells seem to be dispensable for this effect at least in this particular situation. Moreover, we have also identified a population of gamma delta T cells with a unique phenotype never described before (CD3bright). Interestingly, this population has a clear intrinsic ability to produce IL-17 compared to any other gamma delta T cells and are represented at a high frequency in breast cancer tumor environment. We have highlighted several key homeostatic factors on this population and identified their precise phenotype. Of interest a human gamma delta T cell population display a similar phenotype (CD3bright) with gamma delta T17-like cell hallmarks. Our future efforts will focus on this population and their putative role in immunogenic chemotherapy for breast cancer.

2283.使用商品部件和低精度焊接的精确桁架组装

We describe an Intelligent Precision Jigging Robot (IPJR), which allows high precision assembly of commodity parts with low-precision bonding. We present preliminary experiments in 2D that are motivated by the problem of assembling a space telescope optical bench on orbit using inexpensive, stock hardware and low-precision welding. An IPJR is a robot that acts as the precise "jigging", holding parts of a local assembly site in place while an external low precision assembly agent cuts and welds members. The prototype presented in this paper allows an assembly agent (in this case, a human using only low precision tools), to assemble a 2D truss made of wooden dowels to a precision on the order of millimeters over a span on the order of meters. We report the challenges of designing the IPJR hardware and software, analyze the error in assembly, document the test results over several experiments including a large-scale ring structure, and describe future work to implement the IPJR in 3D and with micron precision.

This report presents national estimates on differences in the use of home health care between men and women aged 65 years and over. Estimates are based on data from the 2007 National Home and Hospice Care Survey, conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions National Center for Health Statistics. In the United States, men aged 65 years and over used home health care at a lower rate than women. Among home health care patients 65 years and over, women were more likely to be 85 years and over while men were more likely to be married and receive home health care as post-acute care. Women 65 years and over who received home health care were less likely than males to receive wound care and physical therapy, and more likely to receive homemaker services. Among home health care patients who were 65 years and over, cancer was more prevalent among men, and essential hypertension was more common among women.

Fuzzy clustering algorithms have been widely used for image segmentation,typically such as FCM algorithm.However,the FCM algorithm is parameter sensitive,and its results lack of availability.To improve the above problems,a novel fuzzy clustering method based on semantic color tree for image segmentation is proposed in this paper.The method is realized by modifying the membership function in the conventional FCM algorithm and by constructing the semantic color tree to achieve the semantic color extraction,which take human visual subjectivity into account in semantics.The proposed method is applied to real images.Experimental results show that the presented algorithm performs more effectively than the FCM algorithm.

2286.HER2andEphB4通路的共对靶向

Multiple receptor pathways are often induced in cancer and thus allow redundancy in providing growth and survival advantage to tumor cells. In addition, micro-environment including increased blood perfusion into the tumor can provide advantage to the tumor. EphB4 receptor tyrosine kinase & its ligand EphrinB2 appear to have dual function. EphB4 & its ligand are needed for the formation & maturation of blood vessels. EphB4 in addition is induced in tumor cells, where it may cooperate with HER2 growth factor signaling. Thus co- targeting HER2 & EphB4 could lead to significant therapeutic benefits. The goal of this project is to assess the in vitro and in vivo growth and signaling effects of co-targeting using approved anti-HER2 agents, trastuzumab & lapatinib in combination with an inhibitor of EphB4-EphrinB2, namely soluble EphB4-HSA, which was discovered in our laboratory. The other component of this project is to use genetic models to define the contribution of EphB4 & EphrinB2 in the formation and progression of Her2 positive tumor. In this aim we will use Her2 transgenic mice that develop mammary gland tumors, and cross with the mice in which either EphB4 or EphrinB2 gene is deleted. We have generated or acquired the mouse lines to conduct this part of the project. Lastly we wish to determine if EphB4 is induced in tumors that become resistant to Her2 targeted therapy, and the role of EphB4 in such a case. Can EphB4 targeted therapy reset the clock and sensitize the tumor to her2 targeted therapy. Early evidence indicates that this may be possible. This work & the soon to start Phase I study of soluble EphB4HSA phase I trial at our institution will set the foundation for design of combined targeting Her2 & EphB4 in human trial.

In order to prolong continuous working time of the mobile robot to inspect on transmission lines,a robotic power management system is introduced in this paper based on the wireless power transmission technology.Magnetic resonance coupled WPT (wireless power transmission) unit is applied and its performance is analyzed in form of electrical circuit mode method.By modeling the output power of WPT unit,the relationship between coupled coefficient,angular frequency and amount of output power is given,and furthermore the energy consumption of each unit in power management system is quantified.Experiment results verified the validity of the circuit model of WPT and showed that the system could work conveniently in wireless way to provide power for the inspection robot.

2290.基于对称非广延交叉熵和粒子群优化的多阈值

Multi-thresholding is an important step for automatic image analysis.In this paper,a multi-thresholding method based on symmetric Tsallis-cross entropy and uniform searching particle swarm optimization (UPSO) is proposed.The criterion function using symmetric Tsallis-cross entropy can make the grayscale within the background cluster and the object cluster uniform.Since the exhaustive multi-thresholding algorithm would be too time-consuming,UPSO algorithm is adopted to find the optimal thresholds quickly and accurately.A large number of experimental results show that,compared with related multi-thresholding methods based on Shannon entropy and Tsallis entropy,the proposed method is effective and rapid.It can obtain more accurate boundary shape and clearer details of object.
