1805.乳酸作为反应生物标记使用光谱选择多个量子编辑序列(SS-SelMQC)的非侵入性检测

This application focuses on enhancing cancer care by developing non-invasive techniques to determine better biomarkers to improve diagnostic specificity and decrease the number of negative biopsies, and also as markers of response with novel targeted agents such as Trastuzumab and Bevacizumab. Last year, we optimized lactate sequence (SS1-SelMQC) using higher order binomial pulses with better lipid suppression compared to original SS-SelMQC and started working on breast tumors. In this year, we completed data collection of lactate MR spectroscopy data of in vivo breast tumors with different expression levels of ER, PR, HER-2 as a function of Herceptin and Avastin. We completed quantification of 1D spectra and made significant progress in 2D quantification to explain tumor heterogeneity, an important step towards understanding treatment response. Presently, we are working on completing the data analysis of all 2D data analysis simultaneously along with the histological correlation.

1806.FYN:前列腺癌转移的主要调节器

My laboratory has continued to study the role of the novel molecular target, Fyn, in prostate cancer. In this second year of DoD funding we have made significant progress in defining the Fyn signaling pathway and its relationship with Met: a novel and important molecular target in several diseases including prostate cancer. Also, we have completed an important initial battery of murine studies showing an effect on dissemination: When Fyn deficient tumor cells were injected in vivo, their ability to metastasize was significantly diminished. Our studies continue to support the importance of Fyn as putative therapeutic target in advanced prostate cancer. This has become critically important given the recent report by Araujo of the long awaited phase 3 study of docetaxel with or without dasatinib, a Src-family kinase (SFK) inhibitor. The disappointing results have threatened the viability of applying SFK inhibition to the disease of prostate cancer. My group and others still believe that the completed study failed to translationally address the relevant biology of Fyn and SFKs in prostate cancer. Clinical studies with translational endpoints are now being planned with agents that effectively inhibit Fyn and Met in a variety of settings.

A self-calibrating even-order distortions technique is presented whereby different mechanisms responsible for even-order distortions, characterized by IIP2 metric (Second Harmonic Input referred Intercept Point), were independently calibrated, resulting in robust performance independent of the amplitude and frequency of the blocker. Second, an active dynamic blocker-notching scheme is proposed and tested.

We present a new approach for fast sheared filtering on the GPU. Our algorithm factors the 4D sheared filter into four 1D filters. We derive complexity bounds for our method, showing that the per-pixel complexity is reduced from O(n^2 l^2) to O(nl), where n is the linear filter width (filter size is O(n^2)) and l is the (usually very small) number of samples for each dimension of the light or lens per pixel (spp is l^2). We thus reduce sheared filtering overhead dramatically. We demonstrate rendering of depth of field, soft shadows and diffuse global illumination at interactive speeds. We reduce the number of samples needed by 5 ? 8×, compared to axis-aligned filtering, and framerates are 4× faster for equal quality.

Taking into account the limited power budget, this research investigates the design choices of the number of elements in phased-array transceivers, and identifies that the overhead power is the bottleneck of energy efficiency. In order to reduce the overhead power in the transmitter, a new architecture using a fast start-up oscillator is proposed, which eliminates the need of explicit modulator and 60GHz LO delivery.
