    Biosolids provide an eco-friendly way of reducing the dependence on hazardous chemical fertilizers in agricultural applications. The application of these biosolids not only reduces the need for chemical fertilizers, but also enhances the agricultural output. Biosolids are a valuable source of nutrients, although they contain lower N (2–8%), P (1.5–3%), and K (0.1–0.6%), compared to commercial fertilizers, especially the high- grade ones. Biosolids provide micronutrients, including copper (Cu), boron (B), iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), and molybdenum (Mo), which are essential plant nutrients that are not available in most conventional chemical fertilizers. As more wastewater plants become capable of producing high-quality biosolids, there is greater opportunity to make use of this valuable resource to improve soil fertility and increase crop yield.
