2014年1-8月份，电力行业整体保持平稳运行态势，全国电力供需总体平衡。具体来看，电力、热力生产和供应业固定资产投资小幅回升，电网投资增速由负转正，但电源投资增速持续回落。全社会用电量增速17个月以来首次出现“负增长”，且第三产业用电量及城乡居民生活用电量增速均明显回落。全社会发电量增速继续放缓，但随着能源结构调整步伐加快，电源结构继续优化，清洁能源发电量占比继续提升，火电发电量占比则继续下降。全国跨区、跨省送电保持平稳较快增长，南方电网“西电东送”电量快速增长。此外，电力行业经营状况继续向好，规模以上企业利润继续保持较快增长。
