    We compared classification capabilities for handheld electromagnetic sensors that were deployed using either a grid-based template for spatial registration or an IMU-based positioning system. Demonstration data were collected at the Aberdeen Proving Ground using both systems. The two data sets were analyzed separately and submitted to the Institute for Defense Analyses for grading. The IMU-based positioning system involved in this demonstration is known as the Small Area Inertial Navigation and Tracking (SAINT) system. It was developed by ENSCO as part of an earlier ESTCP project and enhanced and integrated with the EM61HH sensor in support of this effort. The SAINT system consists of a Honeywell HG1900 IMU and a LEICA DMC. The Honeywell HG1900 IMU consists of orthogonally aligned MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes that record 3-axis acceleration and rotation rates, respectively enclosed in an 8-cubic inch container. The LEICA DMC is employed to aid the IMU and constrain heading drift. The digital magnetic compass measures the strength and direction of a magnetic field and can be used to determine magnetic north in an environment free of additional magnetic fields. SAINT records all IMU and digital magnetic compass data onto an internal compact flash card.

    The miniaturization of a sound detection system is of great interest to applications such as sniper location. Current systems in use are larger and do not provide for the unencumbered movement of the warfighter. Inspiration for a smaller MEMS based sensor is therefore taken from the aural system of the fly Ormia ochracea. The focus of this thesis is the design of an integrated and miniaturized device utilizing commercial-off-the-shelf readout electronics with the biologically inspired sensor. An analysis of previously used techniques is presented along with a novel fullyintegrated miniaturized design. Specific investigations include integration with external readout electronics, a hybrid discrete component design, and the fully-integrated single package design. Results include successful operation at all levels of integration and a more thorough analysis of the performance of the fully-integrated design.

    Results from a field demonstration of autonomous detection, localization, and verification of multiple acoustic events using sparsely deployed unattended ground sensors, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) as data mules, and a ground control interface are discussed. A novel algorithm is demonstrated to address the problem of multiple event acoustic source localization in the presence of false and missed detections. We also demonstrate an algorithm to route a UAV equipped with a radio to collect data from sparsely deployed ground sensors that takes advantage of communication range of the aircraft while adhering to kinematic constraints of the UAV. A second UAV was utilized to provide video verification of localized events to a human operator at a ground control station.

    In this work we describe the design of an adaptable decision support system and its integration with a wireless sensor/actuator network (WSAN) to implement zone specific irrigation control in greenhouses via wireless communication. Our research has focused on the provision for proactive applications by deploying sensor networks and connecting sensor data with actuators through an ontology-based decision-making layer. The system developed provides for realtime monitoring and control of both agricultural inputs and outputs (irrigation control). A simple rule editor is also provided through a graphical user interface for the domain-expert to specify the knowledge base.

  • 32975.基于平面电磁传感器和独立分量分析的硝酸检测温度的影响因素

    In this paper, the output parameters of the planar electromagnetic sensor have observed with different kind of water samples at different concentrations. The output parameters have been derived and tested to be incorporated with independent component analysis (ICA) and as inputs for an analysis model. The analysis model targeted to estimate the amount of nitrate contamination in water samples with the assistance of ICA based on FastICA fixed point algorithm under the contrast functions of pow3 and tanh. Nitrates sample in the form of ammonium nitrates (NH_4NO_3), each of different concentration between 5 mg and 20 mg dissolved in 1 litre of deionized water (mili-q) was used as one of the main references. A model based on independent component analysis was developed to estimate nitrate contamination in natural water source. The model was tested with two sets of mixed NH_4NO_3 and (NH_4)_2HPO_4 water samples based on Manawatu river water. From the results, the model can acceptably detect the presence of nitrate in Manawatu River and capable of distinguishing the concentration level in the presence of other type of contamination. Furthermore, the effect of temperature change was also observed in this study. The system and approach presented in this paper has the potential to be used as a useful tool for water sources monitoring.

    This research addresses theoretical and computational issues for estimation of gas concentration associated with an emitting stationary or moving source. Estimation of the concentration field provides a superior ability for detection of the gas source location, assessment of possible impacts and eventual containment. The model based concentration estimation is made possible via a sensing aerial vehicle (SAV). The theoretical component considers an abstract and finite-dimensional approximation framework that strongly couples theoretical estimation and control with advanced computational fluid dynamics methods. The gas dispersion model is based on the 2D advection diffusion equation with variable eddy diffusivities and ambient winds. The process state estimator is based on a 2D adaptive, multi grid, multi step finite volume method with upwind and flux limiting. The grid is adapted with local refinement and coarsening during the process state estimation, in order to improve accuracy and efficiency. The SAV motion dynamics is incorporated into the spatial process and its guidance is linked to the performance of the state estimator.

    Among gynecologic tumors, ovarian carcinoma has the highest lethality rate with about 14,600 deaths from ovarian cancer in the United States in 2009 [1]. Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer deaths among women and often goes undetected until it reaches an advanced stage. Ovarian cancer causes more deaths in the United States than all other female reproductive cancers combined [1]. Due to the availability of early detection tests and improved treatments, survival rates are much higher for other cancers such as breast or cervical cancer. However, less than 20[1,2] of ovarian cancers are found at an early stage due to lack of reproducible and definitive diagnostic methods. Early symptomatic diagnosis is difficult as the typical symptoms (such as bloating, pelvic pain, and/or nausea) are common to a host of causes.

  • 32978.基于GPS定位性能和传感器协助需求的单一频率和载波相位的分析

    The work described in this report outlines the design and testing of a low-cost, single frequency, carrier phase positioning system. Furthermore, aiding sensor accuracy requirements are analyzed to improve the robustness of the carrier phase system after emerging from signal outages. The applications of interest are ones with safety-of-life implications such as driver assist systems for enhancing lane keeping performance in narrow lanes or during inclement weather when lane markings are obscured. In these applications, frequent GPS outages due to obstructions from buildings and highway overpasses often require solving for the integer ambiguities. The single frequency GPS receiver used for this work was the Hemisphere Crescent. Processing carrier phase data from this receiver was only intermittently successful. Even for data sets collected under ideal static and open-sky conditions, the integer ambiguity estimation process was often unsuccessful. Much effort was made to identify the source of the problem, but no conclusive reason was identified. Despite this setback, sensor accuracy requirements were studied analytically. and it was determined that aiding sensors capable of providing baseline vector position estimates with a standard deviation of less than 0:8 m have potential to improve the integer ambiguity resolution time. This requirement, especially for signal outages lasting longer than several seconds, limits the candidate aiding sensors to higher-cost systems. Therefore low-cost, carrier phase based driver assist systems, using currently available receivers and sensors, continues to be a challenging problem. However, this may be overcome in the next decade as the second and third GPS civilian signal, L2C and L5, become fully avialable by 2019.

    Aiming at the problem that the quality of fan's control circuit board is not stable, this paper designs and develops of multiparameter networked reliability testing system of eclectic fan's circuit board based on the virtual instrument Labview. This system adopts distributed structure, which consists of three parts: the measurement and control node, virtual instrument PC, interference sources. The sensing nets measurement and control node with embedded processor, controls test model,process jamming signal's voltage and frequency of circuit interference source, and real-time online collects parameters of control circuit board's key components on operation process ,such as, voltage and temperature, and then through the sensor network sends those dates to Labview virtual instrument machine. The Labview software does display storage, and comprehensive analysis of operation. The application shows that the system can accurately and rapidly acquire circuit board components' parameters, operate stably and reliably, and play an important auxiliary function to find the product's quality problem and improve the circuit board design.
