Sleep apnea is a common sleeping disorder characterized by repetitive instances of interrupted breathing caused by upper airway obstruction during sleep. There are three types of sleep apnea namely, central, obstructive, and complex or mixed sleep apnea. The most common form of sleep apnea is OSA. Sleep apnea diagnostic devices, such as PSG, actigraphy systems, and pulse oximeters, are used in sleep apnea screening; positive airway pressure and oral appliances are used in sleep apnea therapy.
