针对一种流行的用户轨迹隐私保护方法——Silent Cascade,提出一种新的轨迹隐私度量方法.该度量方法将用户运动轨迹用带权无向图描述,并从信息熵的角度计算用户的轨迹隐私水平.已有文献指出,当攻击者拥有新的背景知识时,任何一种隐私保护方法都会受到隐私威胁.因此,将攻击者的背景知识分级融入到度量方法中,隐私度量的结果由对背景知识的假设和相应的轨迹隐私水平值组成,并提出(KUL(Ki+Ki-).KL(Ki+Ki-))联系规则的方法来描述对背景知识的假设.模拟实验结果表明,此度量方法为移动用户和轨迹隐私保护方法的设计者提供了一个有价值的工具,能够准确地评估在攻击者具有可变背景知识情况下,用户的轨迹隐私水平.

提出一种结合运动信息与表观特征的行人检测方法.在对通过表观检测子获得的候选检测窗口执行分割验证的框架中,将运动信息融入到基于图像序列的对象分割算法中,通过获取更准确的分割结果来提高对候选检测窗口的检测准确率.该方法利用运动信息更新运动对象的前景/背景分布模型,将颜色信息间接地融入行人检测中,并通过形状特征表现出来,与行人表观检测子形成互补的特性,获得更好的检测结果.上述结论在CAVIAR视频以及行人检测视频中得到了实验验证.

分析了噪声对半监督学习Gaussian-Laplacian正则化(Gaussian-Laplacian regularized,简称GLR)框架的影响,针对最小二乘准则对噪声敏感的特点,结合信息论的最大相关熵准则(maximum correntropy criterion,简称MCC),提出了一种基于最大相关熵准则的鲁棒半监督学习算法(简称GLR-MCC),并证明了算法的收敛性.半二次优化技术被用来求解相关熵目标函数.在每次迭代中,复杂的信息论优化问题被简化为标准的半监督学习问题.典型机器学习数据集上的仿真实验结果表明,在标签噪声和遮挡噪声的情况下,该算法能够有效地提高半监督学习算法性能.

基于自负载周期流技术,提出一种采用降速率包列的可用带宽测量方法SLDRT(self-loading decreasing rate train),并全面分析了该算法在多跳网络、突发性背景流的环境下的性能.SLDRT采用单条包列即可实现对可用带宽的高速测量,具备单次采样、准确测量的特性,可通过调整递减因子等参数,提高测量精度,降低测量负载.理论分析和不同背景流场景下的实验结果表明:在多跳、突发性背景流下,SLDRT具有较强的健壮性；与pathChirp,Pathload算法相比,不仅测量精度优良,而且大量缩短了测量时间,减轻了因测量而引入的额外负载.

National Government Services, Inc. (NGS) is a Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) under contract with CMS to administer the Medicare Part A program for MAC Jurisdiction 13, which consists of two StatesNew York and Connecticut. For FY ended 2006, 139 hospitals in MAC Jurisdiction 13 collected and reported information to the IRIS on residents. In FY ended 2007, the figure was 137 hospitals. Highmark Medicare Services, Inc. (Highmark) is a MAC under contract with CMS to administer the Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) program. Highmark administers the program for MAC Jurisdiction 12, which consists of four StatesPennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and Delawareand the District of Columbia. For fiscal year (FY) ended 2006, 133 hospitals in MAC Jurisdiction 12 collected and reported information to the IRIS on residents. In FY ended 2007, the figure was 132 hospitals. The objective of our review was to determine whether hospitals in MAC Jurisdiction 13 claimed Medicare GME reimbursement for residents also claimed by hospitals in MAC Jurisdiction 12 in accordance with Federal requirements.

Global climate change is a topic that has become very controversial despite strong support within the scientific community. It is common for agencies releasing information about climate change to be served with Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for everything that led to that conclusion. Capturing and presenting the provenance, linking to the research papers, data sets, models, analyses, observation instruments and satellites, etc. supporting key findings has the potential to mitigate skepticism in this domain. The U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) is now coordinating the production of a National Climate Assessment (NCA) that presents our best understanding of global change. We are now developing a Global Change Information System (GCIS) that will present the content of that report and its provenance, including the scientific support for the findings of the assessment. We are using an approach that will present this information both through a human accessible web site as well as a machine readable interface for automated mining of the provenance graph. We plan to use the developing W3C PROV Data Model and Ontology for this system.
