In present era of railways transportation the presence of the railway signal system in railway networks makes the train control system much easier & safer. Today the all railway signal systems are based on electrical devices. In this paper we propose a new signal system for railway network which will be based on wireless sensor devices. Proposed frame work helps the train control mechanism to control the train even in low visibility weather condition like dust, haze, snow, heavy rain, fogginess conditions. In this paper we proposed the idea and the framework for the new wireless sensor device based signal system which can be implemented in modification in existing current signal systems.

This paper presents a study were the Rough Set Theory and Data Mining Technique are applied to the electrical power system. The Data Mining technique classifies the system operation in four possible states: normal, alert, emergency (emergency I and emergency II). The states, that correspond to the normal state can be classified as secure and insecure the remaining ones. In this security studies, the overloads in transmition lines and the violation of the voltage limits are used to classify and rank these contingencies. This technique was applied to the 118IEEE busbar test power network and the results obtained are analyzed. Finally, some conclusions that provide a valuable contribution to the understanding of the power system security analysis are pointed out.

Voltage stability analysis and control become increasingly important as the systems are being operated closer to their stability limits including voltage stability limits. This is due to the fact that there is lack of network investments and there are large amounts of power transactions across regions for economical reasons in electricity market environments. It has been recognized that a number of the system blackouts including the recent blackouts that happened in North America and Europe are related to voltage instabilities of the systems.

Programmable graphics processing units (GPUs) currently offer the best ratio of floating point computational throughput to price for commodity processors, outdistancing same-generation CPUs by an order of magnitude, which has in turn led to their widespread adoption in a variety of computationally demanding fields. Adapting power system simulations to these processors is complicated by the unique hardware architecture of GPUs, which precludes the usage of direct linear system solvers based on Gaussian elimination. Krylov subspace methods are better suited to the GPU architecture, yet the ill-conditioned nature of power system matrices requires substantial preconditioning to ensure robustness of these methods. To reduce the time spent on preconditioning, we have developed a GPU-based preconditioner designed specifically to handle the large, sparse matrices typically encountered in power system simulations. The preconditioning technique used, based on Chebyshev polynomials, is described in detail, as are the design decisions made in adapting this algorithm to the GPU. Evaluation of the performance of the GPU-based preconditioner on a variety of sparse matrices, ranging in size from 30 x 30 to 3948 x 3948, shows significant computational savings relative to a CPU-based implementation of the same preconditioner and a typical incomplete LU (ILU) preconditioner.

23175.裂变电力系统技术示范单位的发展现状

This paper summarizes the progress that has been made in the development of the Fission Power System Technology Demonstration Unit (TDU). The reactor simulator core and Annular Linear Induction Pump have been fabricated and assembled into a test loop at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center. A 12 kWe Power Conversion Unit (PCU) is being developed consisting of two 6 kWe free-piston Stirling engines. The two 6 kWe engines have been fabricated by Sunpower Inc. and are currently being tested separately prior to integration into the PCU. The Facility Cooling System (FCS) used to reject convertor waste heat has been assembled and tested at the NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC). The structural elements, including a Buildup Assembly Platform (BAP) and Upper Truss Structure (UTS) have been fabricated, and will be used to test cold-end components in thermal vacuum prior to TDU testing. Once all components have been fully tested at the subsystem level, they will be assembled into an end-to-end system and tested in thermal vacuum at NASA GRC.

In late 2012, the Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF) is opening at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The facility includes 19 laboratories with a wide range of capabilities, and will give NREL and partnering organizations the opportunity to research electricity integration projects before deploying them in the field. The ESIF also includes visualization labs to help researchers understand the data collected during project experiments.

23178.使用定向传感器的非真实感绘制方法的研究

As mobile devices have been rapidly spread up throughout the world, various services have been provided through mobile devices recently. Many services of them have been developed by using built-in sensors mounted on the mobile devices. Non-photorealistic rendering techniques have been also applied to mobile devices for the purpose of user friendliness or attractions. This paper proposes non-photorealistic rendering method using built-in orientation sensor of mobile devices. The method makes changes of non-photorealistic rendering effects in real time by adjustment of vector fields according as coordinate values from orientation sensor get changed on a mobile device. The proposed method renders pen sketch for a given photo image with direction and strength of line strokes which are applied by vector fields. The method executes rendering based on enhanced LIC filter to make pen sketch on a mobile device. Finally, this paper proves efficiency through the experimental results and shows usefulness of the proposed method.

In this paper, we implemented discriminating system for various surround illuminants using photo sensor. To discriminate surround illuminants of display device we implemented discriminating system using photo sensor which has output Ye and Cy. Experimental results shows that we could discriminate surround illuminants effectively by using the output voltage ratio (Ye/Cy) of photo sensor in the varying luminous intensity of surround illuminants.

In the material handling community, three disparate subgroups exist in the areas of kitting, packaging, and palletizing. Currently, these operations are performed by a mix of automated and manual systems with very limited market penetration of automated systems into small- and mid-sized companies. Lack of automation is due to difficulties in using todays generation of robots for tasks that include requirements such as small lot sizes and product variability. In addition, infrastructure requirements and high levels of required expertise make them prohibitively expensive. A major contributing factor is that current manufacturing robots have little or no understanding of the world around them and no capability to dynamically change their actions if the environment or task changes. This restricts them to operate in highly constrained environments and makes it difficult to change from one task to another. A seminar titled Next Generation Packaging, Kitting, and Palletizing: Can one robot do it all, was held on February 9th 2012 at the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA) MODEX show in Atlanta, GA. The seminar primarily focused on whether systems that are capable of modifying their behavior by generating and adapting plans will overcome the aforementioned limitations and if these systems will require detailed knowledge of and a consistent representation for both the manufacturing environment and the plans. The seminar also explored ways to exploit the significant similarities in packaging, kitting, and palletizing in the way their requirements are represented, and in how their performance is evaluated.
