Risk analytics is an effective tool to control risk and use various assumptions, including risk prevention and risk retention, to manage uncertain events. Risk can be financial, operational, or strategic in nature. Financial organizations have started developing risk analytics models and formulas to hedge against unforeseen risk and reduce regulatory capital. Many other organizations also develop risk models to optimize and mitigate risks that can negatively affect the organization's products or services. The risk analytics process includes priority-based risk identification and use of internal and external data to measure the risk; information collection; and taking appropriate measures to minimize risk. In addition, future risks can be predicted, and necessary actions and business decisions can be taken by analyzing historical risk patterns. The demand for risk analytics is driven by the Banking, Insurance, and Non-traditional sectors such as Manufacturing and Transportation.

Drilling involves the boring of a hole in the earth's surface for extraction of oil and gas. The holes drilled for the extraction of oil are known as oil wells. These wells are created by drilling a hole of 12 cm to 1 m in diameter with a drill rig, which rotates the drill string with other downhole drilling tools attached to it. Drilling downhole tools facilitate the drilling process and counter challenges associated with drilling such as extreme depth, high temperature, and pressure difference. These tools guide or steer wells through a small reservoir by changing the trajectory of the well. Currently, a variety of downhole drilling tools are available in the market that can be used in BHA. Some drilling tools are unique and specific to a particular drilling operation while others are generic in nature and can be used for multiple purposes.

Smart wastes refer to the management of solid municipal waste from residential houses, streets, public places, commercial buildings, hospitals, and other institutions by the use of smart technologies such as RFID disposal tag/sensor and vacuum containers that provide real-time fill level measurement of solid municipal waste. The use of smart containers reduces the time and cost of a municipal operator. Smart containers include sensors that help operators to effectively manage solid waste collecting routes, which help to reduce fuel and service costs. Proper and efficient management of solid municipal waste can help mitigate many problems related to pollution, climatic changes, and public health.
