Aseptic packaging is the process of filling a sterilized product into a sealed and sterilized container in order to avoid infection. The package to be used undergoes pre-sterilization under ultra-high temperature in the filling system of aseptic packaging. Aseptic packaging is done using specially-designed aseptic packaging materials; these materials have multi-layering of sheets, which prevents the entrance of any oxygen or moisture into the package. This packaging provides comparatively greater benefits than the traditional hot filling packaging process. One such benefit is a higher shelf-life of six to twelve months without any need for preservatives. In addition, the food remains nutrition-rich and it retains its original quality and aroma. Aseptic packaging has applications in the packaging of dairy products, NCSD and other products used in the Life Sciences industry.
