An Integrated Circuit (IC) is an electronic circuit that is used as a processing unit in electronic devices. An IC may also be referred to as a chip or a microchip. A distributed control system (DCS) is an automated control system that is distributed across the entire organization. A DCS is distributed throughout various systems with each component or sub-system being controlled by one or more controllers, whereby the DCS can provide instructions to different parts of the machine or plant. Thus, instead of having a centrally located control system, each section of the plant has its own control operation. DCS solutions thus enable the effective and efficient control and management of the overall plant. Furthermore, they also help to reduce downtime errors and to increase the productivity of a plant. A smart card is a card made of plastic and embedded with an integrated circuit (IC). It can have either a memory IC or a microcontroller unit IC (MCU). In the case of the former, the smart card will be able to only store and delete data, whereas in the case of the latter, the smart card will be able to process the data that is stored on the IC. A smart card may also be referred to as an IC card or a chip card. Smart cards offer higher security features than the traditional magnetic stripe cards and they are used across a variety of applications, some of which include payment, transit, and government ID.The Smart Card market in China is one of the fastest-growing Smart Card markets. A manufacturing execution system (MES) is a manufacturing software program that helps manage manufacturing control operations. A MES helps improve the end-users' operational performance by automating, executing, and managing processes as well as performance across the value chain. In essence, an MES acts as a communication system between the various parts of a plant and also provides an enterprise-wide record system. It provides the right information, at the right time, to the right people to take corrective and preventive actions about all aspects of manufacturing activities such as inventory, work-in-progress, production capacity analysis and standard lead times.The MES market in China is one of the fastest growing markets in the Global MES market.
