China’s petroleum and chemical industry performed basically the same as expected in 2013. The nine major policies selected by CCR for analysis, cover system reform, excess capacity, emerging forms of energy, environmental protection and control of chemical hazards. In 2014, China's petrochemical industry players need to further raise public awareness of chemicals, promote green production, control air pollution, and emphasize personal health care field.

CTL production in China, begun in 2009, has reached 29 000 bbl/ day in four plants and is expected to rise to more than 310 000 bbl/day by 2016.Sinopec has summarized its developing goals of coal chemical business as "133331" by 2020. Its six coal chemical projects are ongoing now.

I&I cleaners include chemical formulations used in disinfectants, sanitizers, and detergent manufacturing. I&I cleaning products are used in the general cleaning or maintenance of facilities. Though the product differentiation through chemistry is limited for I&I cleaners, there is huge demand for value-added I&I cleaners. Wood-plastic composites are materials made of wood flour or fiber and plastic resins. These composites contain a certain number of additives that foster the integration of wood and plastic and aid in the manufacturing process. Most wood-plastic composites are manufactured using wood and plastic wastes or recyclates, while others are manufactured using virgin wood and plastic materials. Extrusion is largely employed in their manufacturing process, followed by injection molding. Transformer oil acts as a dielectric medium in oil-filled transformers to cool and insulate the transformer windings and core. Transformer windings and core, which are highly stable at high temperatures, are fully immersed in these oils as they prevent the contact of atmospheric oxygen with the cellulose paper insulation of windings, which are highly prone to oxidization. There are mainly three types of transformer oils: mineral-based, silicone-based, and bio-based. Of these, mineral-based transformer oil is largely preferred mainly because of its good electrical and cooling properties and cost-effectiveness.

Automotive coatings are products that enhance the exterior appearance and durability of a vehicle by protecting it from harsh external factors such as UV radiation, heat and cold, and grit from the road. Automotive adhesives and sealants are bonding agents with similar chemical constitutions and different functionalities. Adhesives are primarily used to provide more structural stability to objects by binding two surfaces together, whereas sealants are used to enable airtight or watertight closure of the space between two surfaces by adding a protective coating between them.
