5582.计算机,气象数据分析器(CMD-P)吸收区域无线电探空仪数据能力的分析

The Product Manager (PM) for Meteorological and Target Identification Capabilities (MaTIC) developed a laptop-based version of the Meteorological Measuring Set-Profiler (MMS-P) that should replicate the capabilities of the latest currently fielded version, the MMS-P Block I Version 2 (B1v2). The laptop is a standard dual-processor VT Miltope CHS laptop. The B1v2 can generate all types of artillery meteorological (MET) messages. The PM funded the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) to evaluate the MET accuracy of the laptop system, the Computer, Meteorological Data Profiler (CMD-P), as part of the overall Developmental Test (DT). The goal of this evaluation was to ascertain whether the CMD-P essentially generates the same messages as the B1v2. As in prior studies, we obtained Computer Meteorological Messages (METCMs) from the B1v2 and one of the CMD-Ps that was run in the same way and with the same starting time for assimilating the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) reports, and the other CMD-P was run the same but without the WMO soundings. The results show that the CMD-Ps assimilate regional upper air data equivalently to the B1v2s.

5584.新一代多体系统的计算机代码的开发

Multibody system (MBS) computer codes currently being used are based on three-decade old technology that is failing to respond to new modeling challenges. Modern and complex ground vehicle models, for example, include significant details that cannot be captured using existing MBS software technology. This paper discusses a new Department of Defense (DoD) initiative focused on the development of new generation of MBS computer codes that have capabilities and features that are not provided by existing MBS software technology. New applications require accurate continuum mechanics based vehicle/soil interaction models, belt and chain drive models, efficient and accurate continuum based tire models, cable models used in rescue missions, models that accurately capture large deformations due to thermal and excessive loads, more accurate bio-mechanics models for ligaments, muscles, and soft tissues (LMST), etc. Addressing these modeling and virtual prototyping challenges is necessary in order for industries and federal laboratories to have a new generation of MBS software that will serve their mission. The development of such a new software technology will require a successful integration of computational geometry (CG), FE, and MBS algorithms. A fundamentally different FE approach is required for the new integration of CG, large displacement FE, and MBS algorithm. This will be accomplished in the DoD initiative using the nonlinear FE absolute nodal coordinate formulation (ANCF) that has many desirable features. This paper discusses the feasibility of developing such a new software technology that is required for accurate virtual prototyping of vehicles, machines, and equipment.

5585.基于计算机视觉的油漆泡沫面积测量方法

An area measurement method of paint bubble based on computer vision is proposed. Firstly, through a camera calibration, the lens distortion is removed and the mapping between image coordinate and real world coordinate is constructed. Secondly, a novel color image segmentation method based on graph-cut, whose seeds can be auto-marked, is proposed, and with the method, paint bubbles are extracted from image. Finally, with camera calibrated parameter, the size of segmented paint bubbles is figured out. Experiment result shows that the proposed method gains higher precision than classical graph-cut segmentation method and can figure out the area of the bubble automatically.

5586.关于计算机视觉设计辅助的正式模型

This paper aims at contributing to a better understanding of essential concepts of visual design aided by computer. Towards this end, we first present an ontology of conceptual visual design. Then, we define particular components of the formal model paying attention to the role of different kinds of classification during the design process. Moreover, we present two types of logic models used in computer tools supporting the design process. Finally, a formal model of computer-aided visual design is defined. The model is illustrated on examples of designing floor layouts based on a graph-based data structure gathering information for design knowledge and describing two categories of thinking during design process.

The domain of autonomic and nature-inspired networking comes with its own set of design challenges and requirements for its architectures. This demands a tailored solution to model and design its components rather than a generic approach. In this paper, we provide a hybrid methodology consisting of formal methods to design, refine and verify the entities of autonomic networks. We focus our discussions on the methods for meta-modeling, structural modeling and behavior modeling and design of existing protocols and newly introduced autonomic components, that autonomically manage and adapt the behaviour of protocols to changing policy and network conditions. A case study, based on the recently introduced Hierarchical Autonomic Management and Control Architectural Framework called GANA, is used for highlighting the practical benefits and design choices available to modelers and autonomic components designers. The results of our case study are analyzed to explain the trade offs that future designers would be forced to make in order to achieve their design objectives for an autonomic network. A tool-chain to realize the methodology is also briefly discussed.

Interactive drama and storytelling applications have become major issues in video games development. Prior research in interactive storytelling identified that adding narrative in computer games is a challenging task because: (ⅰ) it may restrict player interactivity, (ⅱ) narrative causality/control, (ⅲ) the duality between characters and plot, and (ⅳ) the trade-off between narrative progression and user interaction. This chapter attempts to solve these problems by proposing an integrated framework for deeply combining interactivity and narrative in computer games workflow. It presents state-of-the-art results with respect to interactive drama and Petri nets (PN), and highlights some petri-net-based workflow tools for game design and game rules principles. The idea is to compose the game rules in the game's workflow environment by different triggers and effects; and separates the rules of the game environment into two parts: controllable and non-controllable rules. The main contribution of this chapter is to show how workflow management concepts can be jointly utilized with Petri nets (PN) for modeling game systems and game workflow control. Evaluation and performance results supported by some case study called "crazy ball 2" are also demonstrated. "Crazy ball 2" is a platform-type genre, much like the worldwide-known game Mario and the Konami's Castlevania series.

5589.韩国的发展:残疾人的计算机访问评估系统(K-CAAS)

The purpose of the study was to develop a computer access assessment system for improving computer access of individuals with physical disabilities for the first time in South Korea. Korea-Computer Access Assessment (K-CAAS) presented in this article tests three user skills in aim, drag, and menu. Skill levels of the three test areas could be set as primary, intermediate, proficient, and individualized according to individual's needs and conditions. All tests have their default set in each level, and the skill levels can be selected and changed by the abilities and goals of a user. Tests could be selected for users' training and, their results could be traced and shown. Therefore, the K-CAAS is a training program to improve computer access skills as well as an assessment program. It would help users with physical disabilities operate a computer by themselves as improving their computer access skills.

5590.提高货运消防安全:实验测试和计算机模型来进一步发展消防减灾的雾控制添加剂

With the purpose to minimize or prevent crash-induced fires in road and rail transportation, the current interest in bio-derived and blended transportation fuels is increasing. Based on two years of preliminary testing and analysis, it appears to be clear that polymeric additives may be added to diesel fuel to mitigate the formation of fine mists while allow regular flow through the fuel system. In this work, computer modeling was adapted as a fast and cost-effective methodology to identify the target range where polymeric additives could impact the shear-thickening effect on fuels. The Volume of Fraction (VOF) method was used within the commercial software Fluent to compute droplet behavior. Two new computational models, the combined SCA-DCA model with Jiangs correlation and the SCA-DCA model with exponential fitting, were proposed and imposed as the boundary conditions, showing a best-fit behavior with the experiment results.
