The Commission instituted this investigation on November 30, 2010, based on a complaint filed by Apple Inc., f/k/a Apple Computer, Inc., of Cupertino, California ('Apple'). 75 Fed. Reg. 74081-82. The complaint alleges violations of section 337 ofthe Tariff Act of 1930, as amended, 19 U.S.C. 1337 ('Section 337'), in the importation into the United States, the sale for importation, and the sale within the United States after importation of certain mobile devices and related software by reason of infringement of certain claims of U.S. Patent Nos. 7,812,828; 7,663,607 ('the 607 Patent'); and 5,379,430. The Commission's notice of investigation named Motorola, Inc. n/k/a Motorola Solutions of Schaumburg, Illinois ('Motorola, Inc.') and Motorola Mobility, Inc. of Libertyville, Illinois ('Motorola') as respondents. The Office of Unfair Import Investigation ('IA') was named as a participating party. On August 16, 2011, the presiding administrative law judge ('ALJ') issued an initial determination ('ID') granting a joint unopposed motion to terminate the investigation as to Motorola, Inc. See Order No. 10 (Aug. 16, 2011 ). The Commission determined not to review Order No. 10. See Notice (Aug. 31, 2011 ).

An LED is a semiconductor light source used for various applications such as general lighting, backlighting, and automotive lighting. LED lighting applications include residential, office, retail, hospitality, industrial, outdoor, architectural and others. LEDs are gaining acceptance in these applications because of their greater efficiency and low cost. Also, LEDs are able to address some key issues that the world faces today such as the energy crisis, resource scarcity, climate change, safety in and attractiveness of cities, productivity in offices, and an enhanced sense of health and wellbeing, as lighting consumes approximately 20 percent of all electricity in the world. LED lighting can save on an average up to 40 percent of energy.

Islamic banking is a model that is based on Islamic laws and is fundamentally different from conventional banking. This model is consistent with the principles of Sharia laws, which strictly prohibit any kind of interest or fees (also known as Usury or Riba) on both deposits and loans. Citizens of Islamic countries prefer interest-free banking owing to their religious beliefs, according to which any investment in businesses producing goods or services is contrary to Islamic principles and is Haram (or sinful). The Asia-Pacific biotech industry continued its strong performance in the first half of 2013,remaining one of the fastest emerging industries in the region and globally.Leading companies reported higher revenues as the stock prices of the top ten companies rose 21.5% on average over the last six months, with only one company seeing its share price fall. Due to economic challenges in Europe and the US, investors and foreign biotech firms shifted their focus to the Asia-Pacific with the potential for higher returns. IPO activity still lagged behind that of the US, due to governments providing easy access to various funding options and companies favoring M&As over IPOs due to higher returns and the benefits of long-term partnerships. The Asia-Pacific biotechnology industry continued to grow amid a sea of change in the global economy.

Over the last six months, Asia-Pacific’s largest banks continued to face adverse risks that included a low interest rate environment and an overflow of liquidity from global monetary easing. ? Although the Asia-Pacific continued to see strong real GDP growth relative to other regions, activity indicators in early 2013 suggested that the rebound that began in the second half of 2012 had lost some traction. Central banks in the Asia-Pacific geared their monetary policies towards growth as inflationary pressures began to recede. Japan experimented with a mix of monetary and fiscal policies as well as government spending to spur growth and to lift the country out of deflation. The People’s Bank of China eased reserve requirements that domestic banks need to hold against deposits.

Iodine is a mineral which is bluish-black in color. It has antiseptic and other medicinal properties, and is an important mineral essential for the human body. Naturally occurring sources of iodine are caliche ores in Chile and brine extracted from natural gas and oil fields. Iodine and its derivatives are utilized in a large number of applications, including as a catalyst in industrial applications, in pharmaceuticals, disinfectants, and animal feed supplements, and as a stabilizer for nylon resins.The Global Iodine market was significantly affected by the recent financial crisis. However, the market has recovered and is expected to grow steadily during the forecast period 2012-2016. In 2012, the APAC region accounted for the highest consumption of iodine with a market share of 40-44 percent. It was followed by Western Europe and North America, with market shares of 32-36 percent and 19-23 percent, respectively. The overall market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.56 percent during the forecast period.
