Contract logistics is the outsourcing of various elements of logistics and distribution by companies to 3PL (third-party logistics) solution providers. These companies outsource some or all of their SCM (supply chain management) functions such as transportation, warehousing, location tracking, and integration operation services. Often, these providers also offer value-added services such as inventory management, crossdocking, door-to-door delivery, and product packaging. The need for efficiency in delivery, inventory management, and freight forwarding is propelling the demand for contract logistics in South America.

UCB is the blood that remains in the placenta and the attached umbilical cord after childbirth. Cord blood contains stem cells that are unique, smart, and capable of treating several lifethreatening diseases. They are used in the treatment of hematopoietic and genetic disorders. The placental blood can produce ten times more stem cells compared to the umbilical cord, which can in turn be used for the treatment of an adult patient. The cord blood, which is collected during childbirth, is stored and cryopreserved. The cord blood can be stored at private cord blood banks or public cord blood banks. This preserved blood can be used for transplantation and the treatment of diseases at the later stages of life.

In the oil and gas industry, pressure vessels — called separators — are used to segregate well streams into liquid and gaseous components. Separators are used in a range of applications, including on-site primary separation and refinery process separation. The main types of separators are horizontal, vertical, and spherical; these can be further divided into two groups based on the fluids to be separated, namely, oil/gas/water three-phase separators and liquid/gas two-phase separators. Based on application, separators can also be classified as primary-phase separators, test separators, low-pressure separators, high-pressure separators, degassers, or deliquizers. Separators are usually designed in three stages to meet the specific requirements of a project.

Atherectomy devices are used to remove atherosclerotic plaque to clear blocked blood vessels. Atherosclerotic plaques are deposits of fats, calcium, or other substances inside the blood vessels. Removal of these is an endovascular procedure for the treatment of PAD and CAD. PVD refers to damaged or blocked peripheral blood vessels that supply blood to the arms, legs, and organs other than brain and heart. PAD, which is PVD of the arteries, is known to increase the risk of stroke and heart attack by up to six fold. CAD is a condition in which there is narrowing of the arteries that supply blood to heart muscles. Stents, balloon catheters, and atherectomy devices are used in endovascular procedures to treat PVD. Thrombectomy devices are used to surgically remove thrombi (clots) from blood vessels during the treatment of DVT. A DVT is a blood clot formed in deep veins in the body, mainly in the leg. The risk of developing these vascular diseases increases with age. Diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and smoking are other risk factors of these diseases.
