摘 要：In the oil and gas industry, pressure vessels — called separators — are used to segregate well streams into liquid and gaseous components. Separators are used in a range of applications, including on-site primary separation and refinery process separation. The main types of separators are horizontal, vertical, and spherical; these can be further divided into two groups based on the fluids to be separated, namely, oil/gas/water three-phase separators and liquid/gas two-phase separators. Based on application, separators can also be classified as primary-phase separators, test separators, low-pressure separators, high-pressure separators, degassers, or deliquizers. Separators are usually designed in three stages to meet the specific requirements of a project.
