在2014 年我國石化業業者營運表現方面（表6-1），2014 年1~7 月我國石化業主要廠商營收年增率成長3.64%，主要係由於國內石化業者開工率較2013 年提升，加上部分石化產品如乙烯、丙烯以及下游衍生物產品價格高漲所帶動，不過下游終端塑膠加工以及聚酯買盤需求不佳，加上面臨中國石化產能開出，以及上游石化產品如乙烯、丙烯價格高漲因素，導致本產業中下游業者成本難以順利轉嫁，故2014 年上半年本產業整體營業利益年增率微幅衰退1.11%。
