摘 要：Carbon fiber material comprises of micro-sized fibers made of aligned carbon atoms. These fibers or filaments are bundled together to form carbon fiber tows, which can be woven or molded into fabric and sheets. Carbon fiber materials are preferred over traditional materials used in aerospace, automation, civil infrastructure, and other industrial applications, primarily because of their superior mechanical and chemical properties, such as high tensile stiffness, high weight-to-strength ratio, flexibility, low weight, high thermal resistance, and good conductivity. The market for carbon fibers and its composites is growing at a fast pace, and is replacing metals and glass fibers in a multitude of applications.The Global Carbon Fiber market is expected to witness rapid growth during the period 2012–2016.
