摘 要：RDN is a new device-based percutaneous surgical treatment procedure that is used to treat patients with treatment-resistant hypertension. RDN is a novel, safe, and effective procedure for patients whose blood pressure levels cannot be controlled despite taking multiple medications. RDN devices consist of a flexible catheter that delivers radiofrequency or ultrasound energy to the renal nerves in the renal arteries. Since hyperactivity in renal sympathetic nerves causes treatment-resistant hypertension, RDN devices are used to carry out a series of ablation in renal nerves that result in disrupting the nerves and reducing the blood pressure. A number of clinical studies have proven RDN procedures to be safe, long-lasting, and effective in reducing systolic blood pressure by as much as 20 percent.
