It is one of the fastest growing segments in cloud services of the IaaS market. It helps enterprises recover critical data during the occurrence of natural calamities, such as floods, tornados, and hurricanes, or a sudden and unforeseen system failure. As data are an integral part of many business operations, securing them requires efficient and effective implementation of DR services. It also ensures the availability of IT infrastructure in the event of a disaster. The DRaaS market in the US has been gaining traction because of the occurrence of several natural disasters. One example is Hurricane Sandy, which inflicted heavy losses on homes and businesses on the East Coast in October of 2012.
