You'll be happy to hear that Hadoop is NOT a replacement for Informix or DB2, but in fact plays nicely with the existing infrastructure. There are multiple components in the Hadoop family and this article will drill down to specific code samples that show the capabilities. No Elephants will stampede if you try these examples on your own PC.
