摘 要:Due to the sluggish external environment, gross domestic product (GDP) growth for the whole Asia-Pacific region for 2012 was projected by the World Bank to drop to 7.2%. Equity markets appeared to rebound after June, with stocks in more developed countries up 11.8% and in developing countries by 7.3%, as of October, according to the World Bank. Fears of a hard landing in China were allayed when industrial production and exports unexpectedly grew from October onwards. Over the last six months, central banks in the Asia-Pacific region adopted a more accommodative stance, with monetary policies tilting towards growth as inflationary pressures began to recede. Optimism that China’s sluggish growth could be sped up by rising factory output and retail sales kept share prices from sinking.
