Vertical farms in the middle of urban cities are touted to be the answer, safe from the unpredictable weather and largely free from pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers. It doesn’t depend on land and sunlight, and only uses a little water. The theory works: crops grown in a controlled environment along a vertical space using precision agriculture keeps inputs low and results in year-round production with increased yields.
