The economic recovery in the country since 2017, coupled with the relatively low level of penetration of insurance products and the liberalisation of the reinsurance segment, have increased the interest of both domestic and foreign investors towards the market, materialising in the entry of new players and the expansion of operations of existing insurance companies, mainly in underserved segments such as property and casualty and supplementary health insurance, thus increasing overall competition in the sector.
