摘 要:Surfactants or surface active agents reduce the surface tension between two liquids or between a solid and liquid. They exhibit hydrophilic and lipophilic properties. Based on their application, surfactants are mixed with pH boosters or builders to formulate household and industrial detergents and personal care products. The important characteristics of surfactants are foaming, detergency, dispersion, penetration, and wetting effect.
