摘 要：STBs are devices that connect a TV to an external signal source and transform the signal into video content, which is then displayed on the television screen. The source may be cable, satellite, broadband, a telephone line, or a DSL connection. There are two types of STB: SD STBs and HD STBs. HD STBs display both SD and HD channels. HD STBs, which are marketed as providing better sound and picture quality, are further classified into cable, satellite, IPTV, and hybrid STBs. They also provide interactive services such as VOD, videoconferencing, high-speed internet television, and/or home networking.
