摘 要：Portable ultrasound devices are imaging devices that utilize echo-enhanced ultrasound waves to aid in medical diagnosis. They are convenient to carry since they are lighter and smaller than conventional ultrasound machines. Portable ultrasound devices can be used at POC and operated on battery power. Conventional ultrasound machines have low diagnostic accuracy and difficulty in imaging overweight patients as sound waves cannot pass very deep into the body. However, portable ultrasound devices are highly sensitive and can even detect pancreatic tumors, which is not possible with conventional ultrasound devices. Portable ultrasound devices are also useful in situations where space is limited and during onfield scanning (e.g., scanning during epidemics). Their low cost makes them ideal for private gynecology practices. In addition, these devices find use in pediatrics, cardiology, endocrinology, and radiology and for vascular conditions.
