The global UAV market is predicted to grow to around $14.39 billion by 2020. Drones meant for the military segment dominate the market. However, the market will gain traction in the industrial and consumer segments during the forecast period. Industrial companies are implementing aerial drones to compliment certain processes by placing cameras on quadcopters. For instance, Amazon will be using Prime Air drones for delivery and had its trial in the UK in December 2016. Also, Uber is using aerial drones to deliver ice creams in Singapore. Other applications of UAVs, which are being explored extensively, include crop spraying by agriculturalists, video filming, and surveying.
