Government/military contracts contributed the most to the regional market share.The increasing demand for commercial satellites from telecommunications and internet companies is a major driving factor for the market due to surging demand for GPS, the internet, higher bandwidth speed, and connectivity.Recent technological advances in radiation-tolerant electronics and developments of radiation isolation/containment and packaging/shielding techniques are the major challenges in the market, resulting in sluggish market growth.Brazil, Russia, India, and China (BRIC) are likely to contribute a major share to the market during the forecast period due to an increase in the number of space exploration projects by the governments and a rise in commercial satellites because of high demand for internet connections and higher bandwidth speeds.
