全球数据中心建设战略评估和预测报告(2017-2022年)
Global Data Center Construction - Strategic Assessment and Forecast 2017-2022
Globally, the total area of date center construction has been increasing moderately since 2014. It was estimated that 930 million sq. ft. of new data center were constructed during the period 2010−2015, however, in 2017−2022 only 550 million feet of new data centers are expected to be constructed. After 2020, the construction of new data centers will witness a decline on the Y-o-Y basis
• North America and Western Europe are chief geographies, which will witness decline in area of construction vis-à-vis other geographies. Nordic, Latin America, India, China, and SEA are the major geographies, which will witness increase in area of construction. These geographies, however, will witness a moderate growth after 2020.The construction of tier 1 and tier 2 data centers will decline significantly in North America and Europe. The construction of tier 1 and tier 2 will decline in the Nordic region. In China and SEA, the construction of tier 1 and tier 2 is expected to witness a moderate increase during the period 2016−2020, however, it will start decline post 2020.The construction of DCoD and modular data center is slowly cannibalizing tier 1 and tier 2 data centers. Also, SMBs are preferring colocation services over constructing in-house data centers. These two factors have emerged as a threat for the tier 1 and tier 2 data center construction market. The construction of tier 3 data center will increase in revenue during 2016−2020, however, it will witness a decline in growth rate and post 2020, the revenue will start declining. Modular data center construction and focus on construction of tier 4 data center to accommodate a large volume of data and real-time application will pose a challenge for the construction of tier 3 data center post 2020.The construction of tier 4 data center is on the rise. All major BFSI, telecom, CSPs, manufacturing, and healthcare service providers across the globe prefer to construct tier 4 data center. Hence, the tier 4 data center will witness a growth in revenue during the period 2016−2022, however, the Y-o-Y growth rate will continue to decline.
