An EV is an automobile that uses an electric motor instead of an IC engine to propel it forward and backward. The electric energy stored in the automobile's battery is converted into mechanical energy to run the vehicle. These vehicles offer users several practical advantages and are, therefore, increasing in popularity among users and being adopted for use as taxis, a major mode of public transportation. Some of the advantages of EVs include reduced dependency on petroleum, reduced air pollution due to low emission of greenhouse gases, and lower maintenance cost when compared with traditional gasoline and diesel vehicles.Technological innovations by manufacturers are leading to the introduction of newer versions of EVs that provide better and improved performance, which is also increasing their popularity as taxis.
