They are used for various industrial applications, including process industries, water purification, and air separation. Adsorbents are of various types and can be broadly classified into zeolite, activated carbon, silica gel, alumina, clay, and metal oxide and others. Adsorbents are increasingly being used to reduce contamination in both air and water during various industrial processes.
