Intelligent tire technology consists of a feedback microchip which sends data about the road, weather, tire pressure, tire tread wear, and a host of other parameters to the vehicle's engine control unit (ECU). This data enables the ECU to automatically refine the vehicle’s longitudinal and lateral control algorithms to deliver an enhanced driving performance.The intelligent tire technology improves the overall performance of a car. This includes reducing the stopping distances when the anti-lock braking system (ABS)

kicks in. It also provides greater stability due to a more informed electronic stability control (ESC) system.
