摘 要:Location-based service (LBS) is a software application for mobile devices and is used to gather information about the location of these devices. Through LBS, an end-user can have the access of a range of services such as navigation, friend finder, emergency services, local search, and weather based on location  nformation. It also helps in ascertaining the geographical location of individuals using their mobile devices as a source. LBS uses global positioning system (GPS) to track wireless devices.The LBS market in China is expected to experience rapid growth during the period 2011–2015.One of the main reasons for this rapid growth is the increasing use of LBS in mobile devises. In China, the majority of the demand for LBS comes from metros such as Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tianjin. The LBS market in China is expected to grow at a CAGR of 57.9 percent during the period 2011–2015.
