Morocco’s automotive industry has witnessed significant growth over the past few years. It surpassed South Africa and stood as one of the leading automotive producing hubs in the region. The country, in 2017, produced 345,000 passenger vehicles. In comparison, South Africa produced 331,000 passenger vehicles during the same period. Although the country lacks domestic production, most of the automotive manufacturers have established their production facilities in Morocco. Most of these manufacturers are aiming at a Complete Knocked Down (CKD) to reduce costs due to tax.
