摘 要：Japan lies amongst the leading countries in providing the early childhood care and education in the world. The pre-primary and child care industry is one of the most inportant growth drivers of the overall education industry in Japan and forms a major share of the educational spending of the households. The public expenditure on pre-primary education and child care was however, quite low, with annual expenditure per student on pre-primary education forming an approximate 0.3% of the GDP in FY'2012. The pre-primary and child care industry of Japan still lies in nascent stage and offers ample opportunities for foreign and domestic investors.
