摘 要：Mouth ulcers are sores formed in the mucous membrane of the oral cavity. They are noncritical and do not pose serious harm to the health of an individual. Mouth ulcers are formed because of oral injuries or they may arise as a result of an underlying disease. They may be associated with intense or moderate pain. The causes of mouth ulcers are stress, injury, infection, allergy, genetic predisposition, or nutritional deficiencies. The etiology of the disease depends upon the cause, which can be identified and treated upon diagnosis. Ulcers normally heal by themselves in 10-14 days, but medical treatment is usually sought if the condition persists.
