摘 要:A satellite is an artificial object that is placed in orbit around the earth or other planets for telecommunication purposes. Satellites are used in providing various services and products such as broadcast, trunking or VSAT services, broadband internet access, mobile voice, data, and TV services, and more recently satellite radio. The adoption of satellite technology is high in developed countries owing to the large demand for digital content. However, demand from developing countries is catching up with global demand. The Global Satellite market is expected to witness moderate growth with a CAGR of 8.05 percent during the period 2013-2018. In 2013, the Americas dominated the market , followed by the EMEA and APAC regions. The current demand for satellites is mainly for defense applications, but it is expected that the demand from the commercial sector will grow over the next few years.
