In this article a multilayer parking system of size n=3 is studied. We prove that the asymptotic limit of the particle density in the center approaches a maximum of 1/2 in higher layers. This means a significant increase of capacity compared to the first layer where this value is 1/3. This is remarkable because the process is solely driven by randomness. We conjecture that this result applies to all finite parking systems with n≥2.

In this paper we propose a intelligent vehicle system design with MK60NS12VMD100 as the micro-controller unit and CMOS image sensor to obtain image information of the track.Our proposed comparator circuit instead of an A/D conversion to obtain the binary image enables us to achieve a bigger field of view and a higher processing speed.A unique algorithm to extract track information and to successfully extract the black guide line is devised.We also design a PID closed-loop control to adjust the rotate speed of driving electromotor and direction of steering electromotor.The results indicate that our design proposal is feasible.The intelligent vehicle could successfully achieve a high speed,while maintaining an excellent stability.

Vehicle power train plays an important role to develop the energy efficient and reduce fuel consumption.In this paper,the drive train fuzzy controller structure and the fuzzy logic control strategies of parallel hybrid vehicles is presented.Simulation results illustrate the potential of the proposed controller and control strategy in terms of fuel economy and in keeping the deviations of SOC at a low level.

Urban mobility is not only one of the pillars of modern economic systems, but also a key issue in the quest for equality of opportunity, once it can improve access to other services. Currently, however, there are a number of negative issues related to traffic, especially in mega-cities, such as economical issues (cost of opportunity caused by delays), environmental (externalities related to emissions of pollutants), and social (traffic accidents). Solutions to these issues are more and more closely tied to information and communication technology. Indeed, a search in the technical literature (using the keyword "urban traffic" to filter out articles on data network traffic) retrieved the following number of articles (as of December 3, 2013): 9,443 (ACM Digital Library), 26,054 (Scopus), and 1,730,000 (Google Scholar). Moreover, articles listed in the ACM query relate to conferences as diverse as MobiCom, CHI, PADS, and AAMAS. This means that there is a big and diverse community of computer scientists and computer engineers who tackle research that is connected to the development of intelligent traffic and transportation systems. It is also possible to see that this community is growing, and that research projects are getting more and more interdisciplinary.

An evaluation system of vehicle traveling state was proposed,and an unsafe vehicle traveling state recognition system was established using multi-level information fusion method.In view of the effects of the complexity of the driving environment,a variety of working conditions and the diversity of vehicle traveling characteristics,combing BP neural network with Dempster Sharer evidence theory technique,the multi-information decision-level fusion was proposed to estimate the different kind model of the vehicle status.To verify the proposed strategies,the vehicle traveling posture evaluation system was established.The lane departure parameters and the relative distance parameters were studied in order to get the characterization of the vehicle traveling status information.The simulation results indicate that the adaptability and accuracy and the intelligence level of driving characterization estimation are significantly improved by using the pattern classification and decision technology of multi-source information fusion.

With the fast advance of communication technologies,there is an increasing demand of efficient operations in low-power roaming environment.Several protocols came into being successively,yet for special requirements in automobile roaming system such as low consumption,high performance and convenience,these protocols cannot achieve a proper balance between security and efficiency since these protocols pay more attention to a common network environment.In order to go out from the embarrassing situation,we commit to provide a secure and effective mutual authentication mechanism for automobile roaming scenario.Our protocol employs elliptic curve cryptography system to reduce computational and communicational cost.Moreover,we also take into account common attacks and give corresponding resist measures to ensure security.In summary,our protocol is suitable for automobile roaming scenario since it provides user's anonymity,mutual authentication and is more efficient.

The risk of motor vehicle crashes (MVCs) associated with on-the-job operation of motor vehicles or exposure to road traffic hazards affects millions of workers in the United States, and this risk cuts across all industries and occupations. MVCs are consistently the leading cause of worker fatalities, affecting workers who drive all types of motor vehicles during their work day . passenger cars, heavy trucks, fire apparatus, and many others. A wide variety of interventions may be applied to prevent work-related MVCs: administrative controls such as seat belt policies, distracted-driving policies, pre-trip vehicle checks, driver training, reduced travel, and fatigue management; and engineering controls such as more crashworthy vehicles, advanced driver assistance systems, or active safety systems. Questions remain as to which are the most effective interventions to protect workers from risks of work-related MVCs. Through strategic planning, research, collaborations with stakeholders, and communication of research results and prevention, the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is working to ensure that recommended solutions to prevent work-related MVCs and resulting injuries are based on sound research and are clearly communicated to employers and workers. The NIOSH Center for Motor Vehicle Safety (CMVS) is the focal point for activities within the Institute that address this pressing occupational safety problem. The CMVS was designated in December 2010 to strengthen and sustain the Institute's research and prevention activities to reduce work-related motor vehicle crashes and resulting injuries. It is a 'virtual' Center through which researchers from across the Institute and external partners from government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academia, labor, and industry bring complementary expertise to identify crash risk factors, develop and evaluate workplace interventions to prevent crashes, and communicate the results to employers and other stakeholders. The NIOSH CMVS is guided by the vision that: All workers who are exposed to hazards of motor vehicle traffic while working have the highest possible levels of protection from the risk of motor vehicle crashes and resulting injuries. The primary purpose of the 5-year strategic plan for the NIOSH CMVS is to define the priority areas for research and prevention initiatives through 2018.
