The Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) has developed a high-pressure hydrogen production system that reforms a liquid organic feedstock and water at operating pressures up to 800 bar (approx. 12,000 psig). The advantages of this system include the elimination of energy-intensive hydrogen compression, a smaller process footprint, and the elimination of gaseous or liquid hydrogen transport. This system could also potentially enable distributed hydrogen production from centralized coal. Processes have been investigated to gasify coal and then convert the syngas into alcohol or alkanes. These alcohols and alkanes could then be easily transported in bulk to distributed high-pressure water-reforming (HPWR)-based systems to deliver hydrogen economically. The intent of this activity was to utilize the EERC's existing HPWR hydrogen production process, previously designed and constructed in a prior project phase, as a basis to improve operational and production performance of an existing demonstration unit. Parameters to be pursued included higher hydrogen delivery pressure, higher hydrogen production rates, and the ability to refill within a 5-minute time frame.

Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) technique is one of the best method of PWM variable frequency drive and make the AC motor achieving the performance as good as DC motor.Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) has many advantages of small volume,steady operation,high energy efficiency,large output torque,etc.To solve the problems of auto environment and energy sources,study on Pure Electric Vehicles (PEV) driven by PMSM based on SVPWM is an important research direction and has the practical value.On the basis of analyzing the basic models of SVPWM,PMSM and PEV,simulation model of PMSM Control System for PEV can be constructed.The results of the simulation show that the control system has super performance and meet the request of system.

203.电动汽车充电基础设施部署的基于代理的信息系统

The current scarcity of public charging infrastructure is one of the major barriers to mass household adoption of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs). Although most PEV drivers can recharge their vehicles at home, the limited driving range of the vehicles restricts their usefulness for long-distance travel. In this paper, an agent-based information system is presented for identifying patterns in residential PEV ownership and driving activities to enable strategic deployment of new charging infrastructure. Driver agents consider their own driving activities within the simulated environment, in addition to the presence of charging stations and the vehicle ownership of others in their social network, when purchasing a new vehicle. Aside from conventional vehicles, drivers may select among multiple electric alternatives, including two PEV options. The Chicagoland area is used as a case study to demonstrate the different deployment scenarios are analyzed.

204.CNG汽车的基于BP神经网络的注气控制

Compressed natural gas (CNG) automobile is an emerging new energy car.How to control gas injection is the key technology of CNG electronic control system.At present,the control based on the MAP graph is used usually,but this control method has some shortages,for example larger data,poor adaptive capacity and difficulties in data updating.BP neural network control has adaptive and self-learning,nonlinear processing ability and high generalization,and faults tolerant ability in processing information.In this paper,BP neural network is used to control natural gas injection in order to solve the shortage of the MAP picture control.Simulation experiment shows thefeasibility and advantage of this method.

205.负荷频率控制计划在电动汽车和供水设备系统上的实现

Integrating large-scale renewable energy sources and electric vehicles into the power grid, Smart Charging and Vehicle-to-Grid of the electric vehicles play an important role for supply and demand matching in the power grid. The integrated control schemes considering the vehicle user's convenience, battery condition during the idle time, and grid-friendly contribution, have been designed. It is also important to implement the control schemes into the commercial electric vehicle and its supply equipment. This paper describes a laboratory test system of Smart Grid and E-Mobility consisted by an electric vehicle battery test bed, a bi-directional controllable charger, an interface controller with flexibility in communication and control, and a real-time digital simulator. Communication and control functions of each component are confirmed through fundamental experiments, and the load frequency control schemes are implemented to the system.

The American transportation landscape is changing. Americans, especially young people, are driving less for the first time in recorded history, and this trend is expected to continue in the foreseeable future (Davis and Baxandall 2013). This shift has been accompanied by a corresponding increase in popularity of alternative transportation models such as carsharing and ridesharing (Shaheen 2013). Presently, these models only focus on dense urban areas, and current research (Martin and Shaheen 2011) suggests that carsharing and ridesharing programs work best when paired with existing public transportation infrastructure. However, large suburban master planned communities (MPCs) are also increasing in popularity in the United States (Spivak 2012), and the majority of these communities have limited transit options (Mercedes-Benz R&D North America). We explored opportunities for new transportation solutions in these large communities by evaluating existing solutions, interviewing potential users, and analyzing interview and survey data from residents in a specific community. We found that there is an unmet need for a shared transportation solution in a large MPC and designed and implemented a mobile application to demonstrate such a solution. Our application has comparable performance, functionality, and ease of use to other transportation applications and, once implemented, will help residents save time, money, and the environment.

This report documents the study of baseline sensor technology for enabling condition based maintenance plus in Army ground vehicles. The sensor study was driven from Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) conducted on four high cost driver components in Army ground vehicles by Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center (TARDEC). The four high cost driver components in Army ground vehicles as identified by TARDEC are engines, transmissions, batteries, and alternators. This report provides an assessment of current ground vehicle sensor systems and new baseline sensor technologies that may be used to support prognostic/diagnostic fault mode coverage including structural and component health monitoring for enabling condition based maintenance plus (CBM +) strategies to increase the operational availability of Army ground vehicles.

The article proposes a vehicle lane positioning technique based on joint frequency difference of arrival (FDOA) and time difference of arrival (TDOA) principle by measuring Doppler frequency, and derives possible solutions. The vehicle sensor measures the incoming RF signals from a reference emitter at time delayed locations and utilizes the characteristics of this downlink communications to accurately determine the frequency offset as well as time stamp of the packet. The article also addresses the limitations of the technique such as velocity vector estimations at measurement locations and offers possible solutions including Bayesian and triangulation estimation.

209.新能源汽车的模块化储能系统

An electrical vehicle environment was established to promote research and technology development in the area of high power energy management. The project incorporates a topology that permits parallel development of an alternative energy delivery system and an energy storage system. The objective of the project is to develop technologies, specifically power electronics, energy storage electronics and controls that provide efficient and effective energy management between electrically powered devices in alternative energy vehicles--plug-in electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, range extended vehicles, and hydrogen-based fuel cell vehicles. In order to meet the project objectives, the Vehicle Energy Management System (VEMS) was defined and subsystem requirements were obtained. Afterwards, power electronics, energy storage electronics and controls were designed. Finally, these subsystems were built, tested individually, and integrated into an electric vehicle system to evaluate and optimize the subsystems performance.

210.发展热电技术为汽车废热回收

We conducted a vehicle analysis to assess the feasibility of thermoelectric technology for waste heat recovery and conversion to useful electrical power and found that eliminating the 500 W of electrical power generated by the alternator corresponded to about a 7increase in fuel economy (FE) for a small car and about 6for a full size truck. Electric power targets of 300 W were established for city and highway driving cycles for this project. We obtained critical vehicle level information for these driving cycles that enabled a highlevel design and performance analysis of radiator and exhaust gas thermoelectric subsystems for several potential vehicle platforms, and we identified the location and geometric envelopes of the radiator and exhaust gas thermoelectric subsystems. Based on this analysis, we selected the Chevrolet Suburban as the most suitable demonstration vehicle for this project. Our modeling and thermal analysis assessment of a radiator-based thermoelectric generator (TEG), however, revealed severe practical limitations.
